Farm Bill Policies Benefit Wealthy Farmers, Hurt Taxpayers.
5/16/18 Daren Bakst / Katrina Trinko / Daniel Davis
The Heritage Foundation’s Daren Bakst appeared on The Daily Signal podcast on Wednesday to discuss the farm bill. Here is a lightly edited transcript of that conversation.
Katrina Trinko: The House is expected to vote on the farm bill this Friday. Now, the farm bill is actually a pretty huge bill. It includes both funding for food stamps and agriculture issues. But here to talk about the agricultural issues is Daren Bakst, a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation. Daren, thanks for joining us today.
Bakst: Thanks. It’s great to be here.
Trinko: Daren, why should conservatives care about the farm bill? If you’re not a farmer, why does this matter?
The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution. Find out more >>
Bakst: Well, first of all, on the farm subsidy side, it costs a lot of money. The farm subsidies cost about $15 billion a year and on top of that, when you subsidize something you distort the decisions that are being made by farmers. So instead of responding to what the market wants in terms of crops and food, they respond to the subsidies.
And logically that makes sense. If you’re going to subsidize something the farmer is going to farm [for] the subsidy instead of farming to meet the consumer demands.
The other problem is there’s a lot of concern about people being able to get into farming and what happens is the subsidies will actually lead to driving up land prices when the biggest obstacles to getting into farming is land. So what’s ironic is that the subsidies actually wind up creating barriers for new people to get into the farming.
And what does Congress do? They create new programs to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to get people into farming. So we create a program to solve a problem that created in the first place.
Daniel Davis: So what do these subsidies look like for farmers? Is it just a bag of money to go and do X, Y, and Z? Whatever Congress wants you to grow in your farm?
Bakst: Well, there are two different types of commodity programs. There’s what’s called Title 1, which is a bunch of price supports and all kinds of commodity programs that help farmers when prices get too low or they don’t meet their expected revenue. That also includes the sugar program as well—[which] is a very egregious program where the government is literally intentionally trying to drive up sugar prices by limiting how much sugar can be sold. It is the very antithesis of what a conservative should be.
Then on the other side you have the Federal Crop Insurance Program and there taxpayers pay about 62 percent of the premiums for the crop insurance policies.
So farmers only pay a third of the premiums. That would be nice if that’s how my auto insurance worked and taxpayers paid two-thirds.
Between the commodity programs and the crop insurance that’s where really the heart of the alleged so-called safety net is. I think it’s really important for people to recognize that almost all the farm program support goes to just six commodities. So the Congressional Research Service came out with a report and said that 94 percent of farm program support went to just six commodities—corn, wheat, rice, soy beans, cotton, and peanuts—and they only account for about 28% of the production.
In other words, almost all of agriculture and almost all commodities and most farmers aren’t getting subsidies or they get very little.
So really what the safety net and the subsidies are doing is you’re getting multiple programs going to a handful of farmers who are growing a handful of commodities.
And the question is: Why do they need subsidies when almost everybody else in agriculture doesn’t?
Trinko: So obviously the farm plays a pretty pivotal role in American history. I think we all look back in the family farm. We’ve now got all these millennials getting married in barns. Why does it not make sense at this point in time to keep these subsidies going?
Bakst: Well, in the 1940s, farm subsidies were actually designed to be a social welfare program as well as a kind of help because at that time farm households had real deep poverty. They had half the household income of other households in the U.S.
So it acted as a social welfare program, but right now it’s definitely not a social welfare program. Farm households [have] much greater income and much great wealth than non-farm households.
In fact, about a third of the commodity subsidies go to what are called large family farms … [where] their farm household income is about three times the median income for all households.
Trinko: You say $347,000 was [their median household income]?
Bakst: It was $347,000. And their wealth is about $3.8 million and it’s about 39 times the median wealth of all U.S. households. And these are farms that are getting a lot of the subsidies.
So certainly not a welfare program. I want farmers to be wealthy, have all kinds of great … all kinds of income. But when you hear kind of the sob stories and these myths that get thrown out to try to justify subsidies it’s important to bring out who’s actually getting the subsidies.
Davis: So those who advocate for these subsidies say that without them farmers will suffer and they’ll go under and we need them to stay in the long run. So given the subsidies it sounds like what you’re saying is that’s just not the case.
Bakst: What’s interesting is if that’s the case we wouldn’t have …
What about the livestock producers who get little to those subsidies? Or the farmers of specialty crops or fruit, nuts, vegetables. So most of agriculture production, like I said, aren’t getting much in terms of subsidies. So if that argument is true, they wouldn’t have really exist or wouldn’t be growing anything. To me that’s one of the easiest arguments against that argument you just made.
But the truth is, I think there’s this assumption that farmers are just not capable of operating the marketplace like anybody else. But the reality is they’re very sophisticated business people.
We shouldn’t insult them by thinking that they need these handouts in order to compete. The reality is they don’t.
They’re very innovative and they would succeed fine without the subsidies.
But it’s important to note that right now while I would like to see us move away from subsidies, the reform ideas that exist right now are not to get rid of everything all at once, but to start moving away from it.
There are just some commonsense reforms out there that really wouldn’t have that much of an impact on farmers, but would have a big impact on taxpayers and consumers.
Trinko: So what would some of those reforms be?
Bakst: Well, I think one reform is … I was talking about the Crop Insurance Program before and the fact that taxpayers pay about 62% of the premiums for those. Well, reduce that to about half.
I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for farmers to pay half of their premiums and that would save … If you reduce it by 15%, that would result in savings of about $9 billion over 10 years. So significant savings. It would have almost no impact on farmers.
So the Congressional Budget Office analyzed the impact of reducing the premium subsidy that I was talking about, like 15%. So there’s 300 million insured acres. By adopting that reform it would reduce the insured acres by half of 1%, so you’d have 298.5 million insured acres.
Come on. I mean it’s an obvious commonsense reform. President Donald Trump included it in his fiscal year 2019 budget.
Resident barry obuma had talked about reducing premium subsidies in his budgets. The Government Accountability Office identified it. CBO has identified it. So reform on the left and the right that pretty much everybody supports … It’s just indefensible not to adopt something like that.
Trinko: The farm bill that is coming for a vote doesn’t include it, right?
Bakst: The farm bill in its current form doesn’t. There is an amendment that’s been introduced … We’ll have to see. It’s playing out right now what amendments would be considered.
So that’s one key reform. There are a couple of others. I should point out the sugar program, for example. The sugar program intentionally restricts supply of sugar. It drives up prices. You’ll hear that it’s a no-cost program, which is funny because what they’re saying is that it’s … no cost to taxpayers even though it is to some extent.
But it’s about $3.7 billion cost to consumers every year. It is … a real cost, significant cost to the industries that use sugar, which are much bigger and employ a lot more people than the folks that are the sugar growers and producers.
So we’re hurting these industries that use sugar and we’re hurting consumers. But I think what’s really important is that … if you want to identify one policy in the farm bill that hurts the poor, this is one of those policies right here because when you drive up food prices it has a disproportionate impact on low-income households because they spend a greater share of their income on food.
So it’s basically a hidden regressive tax on consumers and particularly, it hurts the low-income households.
Davis: Is there any amendment to reverse that to reform that?
Bakst: Yeah. There is … I would have liked to see an amendment to get rid of the sugar program, but there’s an amendment to reform it. And it would get rid of these supply controls that limit how much sugar can be sold. It doesn’t …
There are still restrictions on imports as well that still remain in place, so it’s not perfect, but at least it moves in the right direction.

Mexifornia Officials Back Trump on Crackdown on ‘Sanctuary’ Policies.
5/16/18 Fred Lucas
Mexifornia law enforcement and local officials gathered at the White House on Wednesday to make it clear that Sacramento doesn’t speak for them on illegal immigration.
The Democrat-controlled state Legislature passed and Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democrat, signed a “sanctuary state” law that prohibits state and local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities on matters such as detaining illegal immigrants in local jails or reporting them.
Mexifornia state Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, a Republican, praised President Donald Trump for holding the White House meeting, noting that Brown has not met with Republican officials.
“This is your Republican resistance right here,” Melendez told the president during the Cabinet Room meeting, obliquely referencing the “resist” movement among some Democrats and liberals dedicated to opposing Trump’s policies.
Seven mayors, four sheriffs and one deputy sheriff, two county supervisors, a city council member, and a district attorney—all from Mexifornia—attended the White House meeting with the president and administration officials from the Justice and Homeland Security departments. Each expressed support for the administration’s tough immigration policies.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., also attended.
Trump said that opposition to “sanctuary” policies is not limited to Republicans, as the public has increasingly become concerned about crime committed by illegal aliens. “We cannot let this butchery happen in America,” Trump said of violent crimes that illegal alien gangs commit in the United States.
The president also said that Mexifornia has “sparked a rebellion” with its sanctuary laws.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions, also in the meeting, has withheld some Justice Department grants from sanctuary jurisdictions across the country, and has sued Mexifornia over its sanctuary state policy.
Trump also criticized Mexico for not helping stem the flow of illegal aliens over the Mexico-U.S. border.
“Mexico does nothing for us,” the president said. “Mexico talks, but they do nothing for us, especially at the border.”
Trump said his administration is stopping more illegal aliens from entering the country, but isn’t satisfied with that.
“Now, we do the best that we can,” he said. “We can do so much better!”
During the meeting, Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen exchanged compliments.
“Thank you for your leadership, sir, and for bringing us all together,” Nielsen said.
“And you’re doing a good job,” Trump replied. “It’s not an easy job.”
Lassen County, Mexifornia, District Attorney Stacey Montgomery said the illegal alien problem has been exacerbated in part by the legalization of marijuana.
A large number of illegal aliens are marijuana growers, she said.
“So, legalization made it worse,” she said. “I’ve been appalled.”
Tom Homan, the retiring acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, defended ICE agents from politicized attacks and praised Trump for taking strong positions.
“I’ve worked for six presidents, and I respect them all, but no president has done more than you,” Homan said, with respect to battling illegal immigration.

President Trump Endorses John Cox For Mexifornia Governor.
5/18/18 Timothy Meads
Friday evening, President Donald J. Trump announced his endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox in the Mexifornia primary.
This announcement comes with less than a month to go before Golden State voters partake in a somewhat unusual method in choosing who will appear on the ballot in the race for Governor in November.
Mexifornia has a non-partisan primary. This means all candidates appear on the same ballot during the gubernatorial primary. Mexifornia voters are allowed to vote for any candidate they choose.
The top two candidates with the most votes, regardless of party, move on to the general election. Many speculate the announcement comes in hope of consolidating GOP votes to ensure that a Republican stays on the ballot.
Democrat candidate Gavin Newsom is expected to receive the most amount of votes of any candidate during the primary.
But, the top two Republicans could effectively split GOP votes and lock themselves out of the ballot by failing to gain more votes than the other Democrats running for governor. This would entail two Democrats on the general ballot.
President Trump's endorsement came via Twitter and expressed confidence in Cox's credentials on issues such as the border and crime.
"Mexifornia finally deserves a great Governor, one who understands borders, crime and lowering taxes. John Cox is the man - he’ll be the best Governor you’ve ever had. I fully endorse John Cox for Governor and look forward to working with him to Make Mexifornia", "California" Again! Donald J. Trump
John Cox, a successful businessman and former Illinois politician, did not vote President Trump in the 2016 election. "I wasn't sure he's a conservative. I am now, he's a conservative," Cox said a recent gubernatorial debate. Cox's initial lack of support for the commander-in-chief is a point that his GOP opponent, Travis Allen, reminds voters of often.

Breaking: Shooting At Santa Fe, TX High School.
5/18/18 by Tom Knighton
An active shooter situation caused a lockdown at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas earlier this morning. The school posted as much on their Facebook account just minutes ago.
SFISD District Response to SFHS Active Shooter'
This morning an incident occurred at the high school involving an active shooter.
The district has initiated a lockdown at the high school. We will send out additional information as soon as it is available.
CBS News reports that several officers are on the scene, but thus far have no further details.
Meanwhile, KHOU in Houston, which is near Santa Fe, reports that at least one student has been taken to the hospital via Life Flight.
Life Flight has responded to a school in Santa Fe where there are reports of a shooter at the high school.
Both Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office say they are assisting in response to reports of a shooting at Santa Fe High School.
The school is located at 16000 Highway 6, about 30 miles southeast of Houston.
KHOU also reports that some students say they were evacuated down the street.
Other reports, these unconfirmed, say describe an exchange of gunfire between police and the suspect.
Local law enforcement aren’t the only ones responding either. According to the ATF’s Twitter account, the agency is responding as well.
ATF is responding to a school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas.
According to ABC13, the incident started around 7:30 in an art class.
Santa Fe High School is on lockdown after a situation with an active shooter on campus. Witnesses say the shooting took place in an art class on campus between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.
A student tells ABC13 she saw a gunman shoot a girl. This is an unconfirmed report. Sophomore Leila Butler tells ABC13 that at about 7:45 a.m. fire alarms went off and students left their classrooms. She reports some students believe they’ve heard shots fired. She is currently sheltering with other students and teachers near campus.
Now, what does this all mean? At this point, we don’t know. This situation is developing as we speak and to call it fluid wouldn’t be an exaggeration. We’re still trying to gather any and all information we can on the subject and will share them with you just as soon as we find out anything.
However, we should caution everyone to remember that initial news reports are often very wrong.
It’s because the whole situation is confusing for the victims and they share that confusion with the media who then reports it to a news-hungry audience. This could be nothing to speak of or it could be something horrific. At this point, we don’t know.
What we do know is that we will continue to monitor this situation as it develops. Check back here for more news.
Click2Houston is reporting that there may well be a fatality at the scene and that more than one student was taking out via Life Flight.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured, but video from Sky2 showed a white sheet draped over something in front of a door to the school.
One student said that he heard as many as eight gunshots. Another student reported hearing several gunshots before hearing alarms and being told to evacuate. “I never thought it would happen here,” said Tyler Turner.
Parents were gathering at a nearby Chevron gas station to connect with their children.
Santa Fe ISD officials said in a statement that students are being taken to the Alamo Gym at 13306 Highway 6 where they will be reunited with their parents.
sky2 video also showed at least two Life Flight helicopters at the school. Dozens of students could be seen standing in lines and emptying their backpacks.
They also report that police have someone in custody.
10:48 EST Edit: CBS News has updated their story to report an eyewitness account of the shooting.
Tyler, a senior at the school, told KHOU-TV that his friend saw “some kid” with a gun pull a fire alarm in a school hallway and then run outside. When teachers and students were outside, shots were fired.
Tyler ran behind some trees, heard more shots, jumped a fence and ran to a car wash. He said he saw firefighters treat a girl who had a bandage around her knee and may have been shot.
This, coupled with what have been reported as two Life Flights makes one wonder how many were transported via conventional ambulance for less life-threatening wounds.
There has still been no official word about fatalities.
11:15 EST Edit:
CNN also reports that a suspect is in custody. Additionally, a second person is being detained by authorities. The reason for that is currently unknown.
However, CNN is also reporting a witness’s description of the weapon used.
Witnesses described students running from the school as they heard gunshots; they also described hearing an alarm at the school, though the sequence of events wasn’t immediately clear.
An armed person walked into an art class at the school and began firing what looked like a shotgun, a witness told CNN affiliate KTRK.
The witness told KTRK she saw a girl shot in the leg.
Patients from the school are being taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Galveston, hospital spokesman Raul Reyes said. He did not say how many or give details about the injuries.
At least one police officer was injured, Sheriff Gonzalez said.
Again, this situation is in flux, so don’t take the description of a shotgun as gospel. Not yet. Even law enforcement gets these things wrong in the early stages, so let’s not put too much stock in an eyewitness statement.
That said, I can’t help but think that if it was an AR-15, the witness would have recognized it considering how much media attention the AR has been getting.
11:36 EST Edit:
CNN is now reporting at least eight people were killed at the Santa Fe High School shooting earlier today.
At least eight people have died as result of Friday morning’s shooting at Texas’ Santa Fe High School, CNN affiliates are reporting.
Again, we’re still learning a lot and these numbers could go up or down as the day progresses. However, at this point, it seems extremely likely that there were a number of fatalities at the school.
Click2Houston says that authorities are still trying to determine if there was more than one shooter or not, or whether the suspect they have in custody acted alone.
16 EST Edit: NBC News is reporting through their headline that ten people have
killed.
Nine students and one teacher were killed in the shooting at Santa Fe High School, according to several law enforcement sources who cautioned that the number could change.
It also appears the shooter had three different firearms on him. A shotgun, a modern sporting rifle, and a handgun.
The second individual in police custody mentioned earlier has been described by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez as a “person of interest.”
3:51 EST Edit:
The New York Times is reporting that the shooter used a shotgun and a revolver.
The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, according to a law enforcement official. He used a shotgun and a .38 revolver, Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas said at a news conference. The weapons appeared to have been obtained from the suspect’s father, who legally owned them, Mr. Abbott said.
We’re not sure where the report of the modern sporting rifle originated, but, again, remember that these situations are very confusing and who knows who said what.
What we are hearing a fair bit is the use of a shotgun as at least a primary weapon in the attack.

Remington Emerges From Bankruptcy.
5/18/18 by Tom Knighton
It’s been rough for Remington, lately. However, the company finally has a bit of good news. It’s now out of bankruptcy.
From Reuters:
Remington, America’s oldest gunmaker, filed for bankruptcy protection in March, weeks after a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida killed 17 people and triggered intensified campaigns for gun control by activists.
Under the reorganization plan, inked two days before the Feb. 14 Parkland shooting, creditors including JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) and Franklin Advisors will take ownership stakes in the company in exchange for forgiving more than $775 million of debt.
Remington also received a $193 million new lending package funded by seven banks, including Bank of America Corp (BAC.N).
“It is morning in Remington country,” Chief Executive Anthony Acitelli said in a statement.
Investors in Cerberus Capital Management LP, the previous owner, had urged the private equity fund to sell Remington after its Bushmaster rifle was used in a school shooting in 2012 in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, in which 20 children died.
Remington has said its bankruptcy would not affect lawsuits against it, including one filed by the families of Sandy Hook victims. It is also appointing a new board of directors.
It should be noted, however, that while the bankruptcy doesn’t protect Remington, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act sure as hell does.
Additionally:
Remington’s bankruptcy was partly triggered by a decline in gun sales as President Donald Trump’s election eased firearm enthusiasts’ worries about increased regulation.
Following the Parkland shooting, companies such as Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N), Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc (DKS.N) and Walmart Inc (WMT.N) cut ties with gun-rights groups or restricted sales of weapons.
Bank of America has hinted that it may sell its participation in Remington’s exit financing package.
Notice how they keep referring to these mass shootings? They have little bearing on the story being reported on. Cerberus’s comments have bearing, sure, because that directly relates to Remington’s financial woes. However, the post-Parkland cowardice by several companies has absolutely nothing to do with Remington.
Further, Parkland had nothing to do with Remington’s bankruptcy. The fact that the company filed just weeks after the shooting there is a prime example of a coincidence. If history shows us anything it’s that their sales were about to increase as people scrambled to buy guns ahead of any proposed gun ban.
If anything Parkland would have helped Remington. A lot.
However, on a different matter, while Bank of America may well sell its part of Remington’s loans, it’s important to realize that it still entered into this loan after swearing off the gun industry. It’s almost like Bank of America will do whatever it has to do to make money.
Normally, I can respect a mercenary attitude. I just prefer people to admit they’re being mercenary about things.
The good news for Remington is that it’s out of bankruptcy and can push forward. What that entails is for Remington to decide, but I’m willing to bet it won’t be by developing guns that no one wants!

Air Force AGGRESSIVELY Upgrades Lethal Capabilities.
5/17/2018 Fox News by: Kris Osborn
The Air Force is now massively speeding up development for hypersonic weapons, missile warning systems and F-35 upgrades as key parts of an emerging new strategy emphasizing risk taking, prototyping and experimentation early in the acquisition process.
The service is now accelerating a plan to speed up delivery of new missile warning satellites, push the arrival of hypersonic weapons forward several years and more rapidly cycle in F-35 software upgrades to keep pace with new challenges.
“Do not be afraid to be aggressive. Sow reasonable prototyping early into your program,” Dr. Will Roper, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, told a group of reporters about his message to service weapons developers.
Roper said that over the last 15 years of counterinsurgency warfare, the service dropped off from what was a previous Cold War emphasis upon large-platform related prototyping to instead look for new technology to fight terrorists. The result, he explained, was a lessening of a more linear or impactful relationship between the Science and Technology community and near-term weapons developers.

Dudley Brown
Thu, 5/17/18 at 7:09 AM
To: Bull Headed Texan
Knock, Knock, Knock! Bull.
It's 6AM and someone's POUNDING at your door.
You haven't done anything wrong.
You've never broken a single law in your life.
You're simply a liberty-loving supporter of the Second Amendment.
But a Facebook picture of you firing your brand-new rifle at the range was enough to TRIGGER one of your anti-gun "friends".
And now a SWAT team is about to barge into your home and seize your guns.
Just a few years ago, this nightmare scenario was UNIMAGINABLE!
But today it's happening in a half-dozen states, all under so-called "red flag" gun confiscation laws.
Worse, these due process-stripping gun control bills are being rammed through several more state legislatures at lightning speed.
And that's why I am writing to ask you to help the National Association for Gun Rights fight them.
Make no mistake, to the gun grabbers like Dianne Feinstein and Michael Bloomberg, "red flag" laws are a dream come true.
Gun Confiscation Orders, often repackaged as "Extreme Risk Protection Orders" or "Gun Violence Restraining Orders," call for Second Amendment rights to be stripped from law-abiding Americans and firearms confiscated on the spot.
No due process, no hearing in a court before your guns are taken, no right to counsel.
And if you want your guns back, you'll likely have to hire an expensive lawyer and BEG a judge weeks or months later.
All based on unsubstantiated accusations from disgruntled family members, neighbors, co-workers, and/or current or ex-romantic partners or roommates.
Even your desire to someday lawfully purchase a firearm could be enough
"evidence" to bar you from ever buying a gun under a version of this bill proposed in Colorado.
Oh, and don't forget your wife's firearm she carries with her to protect herself while working late at night. Under a "red flag" order, they're taking HER gun too.
Currently ERPOs and GVROs have been filed in 19 state legislatures since early January.
At the Federal level, weak-kneed "Republican" turncoats like Colorado Congressman Mike Coffman and Florida Senator Marco Rubio are openly advocating for these gun confiscation orders.
Some in the establishment gun lobby are even openly discussing another federal spending program to "incentivize" states to adopt the toughest California-style versions of the "red flag" law.
This boils down to a fight over government control over your individual right to own guns!
The stakes couldn't be higher. Quite literally, this wave of new laws all being sold under the guise of "public safety" is the very same legal framework the gun grabbers have been begging for.
If passed, and once fully enforced, they know they can erase the gun rights of MILLIONS of Americans.
Just like they did to 250,000 veterans, only a handful of whom ever had the financial or legal resources to get their gun rights restored.
To sum up, here's what you need to know about so-called "red flag" bills:
*** They allow GUN CONFISCATION without Due Process.
*** They allow Seizure of Firearms belonging to innocent third parties, your wife, your daughter or anyone else in your household.
*** They give disgruntled family members, roommates, and co-workers the power to report you to police anonymously.
*** For most people, they will result in lifetime/indefinite suspension of Second Amendment Rights.
Defeating this sneak attack on your gun rights couldn't be more important.
And that's why the National Association for Gun Rights is FIGHTING back.
As the largest national organization OPPOSING all "red flag" gun confiscation laws, we need your help to beat the onslaught of gun control bills right now.
That's why I hope you'll sign your petition to help us fight the "red flag" gun confiscation laws in your state and in Congress.
Thank you for your continued activism.
For Freedom,
Dudley Brown
President
National Association for Gun Rights
P.S. The new wave of "red flag" gun confiscation laws being rammed through state legislatures across the country are a dream come true for gun grabbers like dianne frankenstein and michael bloomberg.
Gun Confiscation WITHOUT due process, no hearing in a court, and no right to counsel.
Make no mistake, this fight is not something we can afford to lose.

President Trump Issues Strong Warning To North Korea!
5/18/18 by: TTN Staff
A strong warning has been issued to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. In recent days he has threatened to cancel the summit if the US doesn't give in to some demands.
And President Trump did not back down, warning him that they will take all appropriate actions if he does decide not to negotiate.
According to The Daily Wire:
President Donald Trump is warning North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un that he better follow through on his pledge to get rid of his weapons of mass destruction or he will suffer the same fate as the Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi.
President Trump said at the White House on Thursday that Kim should "make a deal" when asked about a recent suggestion by his national security adviser John Bolton that his administration may employ the “Libyan model” to deal with Kim.
“The model, if you look at that model with Gaddafi, that was a total decimation. We went in there to beat him, and we did!
Now that model would take place if we don’t make a deal, most likely. But if we make a deal, I think Kim Jong-un is going to be very, very happy,” Trump said.
“This with Kim Jong-un would be something where he would be there. He would be running his country. His country would be very rich,” the president said. "We’re willing to do a lot, and he’s willing … to do a lot also, and I think we’ll actually have a good relationship, assuming we have the meeting and assuming something comes of it. And he’ll get protections that will be very strong.”
The prospect of this summit is historic, but Trump is approaching it with a peace through strength game plan. We will know soon enough if this approach works and the results that come from it.

Trump Issues Strong Warning To North Korea

A strong warning has been issued to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. In recent days he has threatened to cancel the summit if the US doesn't give in to some demands. But Trump did not back down, warning him that they will take all appropriate actions if he does decide not to negotiate.

A man was yelling “anti-Trump sentiment” was arrested early Friday after exchanging gunfire with officers in the lobby of a hotel at a sprawling golf resort that the president owns near Miami.
Yellow caution tape was stretched across the main gate of the Trump National Doral Golf Club Friday morning following the overnight rampage, in which the shooter, identified as 42-year-old Doral resident Jonathan Oddi, burst into the property for unknown reasons and draped an American flag over a lobby counter while spraying bullets.
“This thug was ready for war, he was waiting for our officers to come in,” Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez told Miami radio station 610 WIOD.
Perez said Oddi was “yelling and spewing some information about President Trump.” Although the exact words were unclear, Perez said it was an “anti-Trump sentiment” and that Oddi “had an American flag that he draped over the counter.
