Anne Hathaway's Words Reverberate in Wake of Murder; Nia Wilson's Sunday night death in Oakland prompts a strong outcry.

Sisters Nia and Lahtifa Wilson were headed home from a family gathering Sunday night when the unthinkable happened:

 Police say 27-year-old paroled felon John Lee Cowell fatally stabbed 18-year-old Nia in a "prison-style attack" on an Oakland train station platform; her 26-year-old sister was injured. Police have framed the attack as random, though many have speculated over whether there was racial motivation involved. And in the aftermath of Nia's death, a national conversation has emerged around race that has reeled in some big-name celebs and brought a thoughtful post from Anne Hathaway that's generating headlines.

The timeline:

• Outrage erupted and F-bombs got lobbed over Oakland news station KTVU's coverage of Wilson's death. Its report featured a photo of Wilson from her Facebook page; in it, she appears to be holding a gun. The Daily Dot notes Wilson's page featured "tens of other photos" that could have been used in place of that image. Many said the choice fueled a larger trend involving the criminalization of black victims.
• And it wasn't even a gun. As Shaun King explains in a lengthy Facebook post, it was just a cell-phone case with a gun handle, "basically a gag– and the local news showed it like it said something about Nia’s character. ... Even in death, local news media finds a way to demean us."



President Trump has send a clear message to Islamist Trukey. The Daily Wire reports:

 On Thursday, President Donald Trump added pressure on Turkey to release U.S. Christian pastor Andrew Brunson, threatening to impose “large sanctions” on the country.

 Brunson, originally from North Carolina, was accused of supporting PKK Kurdish militants and assisting a Pennsylvania-based cleric Turkish officials say was the mastermind behind an attempted 2016 coup against ​Turkish President TayyipErdogan, notes Reuters. The pastor, who claims he is innocent, is facing 35 years behind bars if found guilty.

 President Trump and other administration officials say there is no evidence to support the espionage charges.

Hours before President Trump sent the tweet via Air Force One, Vice President Pence threatened similar action if Turkey does not move to free Brunson immediately. “The United States of America will impose significant sanctions on Turkey,” warned Pence, speaking at a Washington conference on religious freedom, according to a report from The Associated Press.

Donald Trump won office in large part because he promised to build a big, beautiful wall to stop the flow of drugs and people into America. Today, we have a better idea of what that wall will actually look like. As the Daily Caller’s Alex Pfeiffer reports:
Below are the requirements for the “big, beautiful wall.”

*The wall must be reinforced concrete and “physically imposing in height.” The government is aiming for a 30-foot high wall, and heights of 18 feet are acceptable, but nothing less.

*It should not be possible for someone to climb the wall unassisted, and it should include “anti-climb topping features.”

*The wall should also prevent digging or tunneling for at least six feet below ground.

*It should be able to withstand a minimum of one hour of people attempting to breach a foot wide hole using their fist, sledgehammer, pick axe etc.

*When it comes to the creation of a hole larger than one foot in diameter, the first 12 feet of the wall should withstand these efforts for up to four hours.

*The north side of the wall, which faces the U.S., “shall be aesthetically pleasing in color, anti-climb texture, etc., to be consistent with general surrounding environment.” In addition, “the wall fittings and fixtures shall be secured on the north side of the wall to shield from external attack.”

*Trump called for the wall to have a “big, beautiful door,” and the posting calls for the wall design to accommodate large mechanized vehicle sliding gates.

Another Illegal Released by Liberals Goes on Crime Spree.

Another illegal criminal was released by a sanctuary city. Breitbart reports:

 Officials with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency arrested an illegal alien, a registered sex offender, on Monday. Orange County, North Carolina, authorities had released him from custody in June without telling ICE.

 ICE officials arrested Mexican national Udiel Aguilar-Castellanos, 42, on Monday at his residence in Carrboro one month after Orange County officials released him from prison, ICE officials announced Wednesday.

 Aguilar-Castellanos agreed to plead guilty to two counts of sexual battery on June 27 for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl. He had to register as a sex offender as part of his plea deal to avoid prison.

 The Mexican national had also been convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2014 and avoided deportation for more than three years—even though an immigration judge gave him a final order of removal in 2015.

 This is not the first time that something like this has happened, and highlights the safety crisis in sanctuary jurisdictions. **** AND IT WON'T BE THE LAST. ****

Anti-Trump Resistance Leader Arrested After Repeated Contact With Minors.

Police arrested one of the anti-Trump resistance leaders in the liberal enclave of Portland, Oregon after authorities say he violated a condition of his probation, prohibiting him from having any contact with minors. (Daily Wire)
Micah Rhodes was "ordered to stay away from anyone under 18" after being convicted of criminal sexual abuse this year for incidents that occurred in 2014 and 2015, Oregon Live reports. *** HE FORGOT. ***
Rhodes was put on probation this year after being convicted on "three counts of second-degree sexual abuse for having illicit sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl in Washington County and a 17-year-old boy in Multnomah County.
The sexual abuse occurred in 2014 and 2015, and Rhodes was 20 and 21 years old at the time."
The Occupy ICE PDX camp had a number of minor children living in it, Oregon Live says, based on reports from other bloggers and reporters who visited the camp. Authorities have not released details of Rhodes's alleged contact with minors but the cramped quarters of the camp likely made it impossible for Rhodes to abide by the conditions of his probation, which mandate a certain distance from all minor children.
It is not clear, either, whether Rhodes lived full time at the camp. He does run a group called "Portland's Resistance," which was involved in the Occupy ICE protests in Portland and which seems to have visited the camp regularly.
A blogger named Robert West allegedly filmed Rhodes at a protest outside Portland's ICE headquarters back in June before the Occupy ICE PDX camp broke ground.
A judge will hear Rhodes' case next week. He faces up to 30 months in prison.

The man who is killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson in a DUI accident on Sunday is a sorry assed Mexican national wanted by federal immigration authorities for deportation, according to a report.
"It is believed Gonsales was intoxicated and was driving without a license," Sgt. John Perrine of the Indiana State Police said. "He was transported to the Marion County Jail, the result of the test for intoxication is pending."

Illegal Alien Evades ICE Before Shooting Officer in Head!

Immigration and Customs officials confirm the suspect in the attempted murder of Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller is an illegal immigrant from Haiti.
Fort Myers Police Chief Derrick Diggs identified the alleged shooter as 29-year-old Wisner Desmaret. Desmaret fired on Jobbers-Miller as the police officer struggled to restrain him after assaulting a group of men and stealing a cell phone from a car in a gas station parking lot.
Instead of immediate deportation, ICE confirmed that Desmaret will face charges from local authorities.
Among those eight charges, is the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer – a possible life sentence.
NBC 2 explained how Desmaret evaded deportation for so long:
The Glades County Sheriff's Office said that Desmaret was placed on an "ICE Hold" in December 2008.
"He was then released to ICE officials" at the Krome facility in Miami!
Two years later, in a 2010 booking report, "Desmaret was placed on another "ICE Hold," this time in Lee County.
An ICE Hold does not mean automatic deportation.
ICE officials said they cannot comment on Desmaret's case because it is an open investigation.
We can't ignore the reality that if the legal apparatus buttressing the immigration system had worked as planned and if authorities had processed only one ICE hold properly, then a Florida police officer would not have nearly died at the hands of a criminal illegal alien!

 There are some, however, who see Texas and how successful the state is, and they want to change it. They want to make it more like Mexifornia.

 They can't stand to see us succeed.

Texas has proven that with lower taxes, fewer regulations, and a government that gets out of the way, everyone benefits. Not just special interests, or politicians' pet projects.

 A recent report from CNBC listed Texas as the top state for businesses. We have the best climate to prosper and for some reason the Democrats want to change that.

 They have stated many, many times the first thing they would do once back in power would be to raise taxes. Why would they want to crush the economic growth we've been seeing?

 This is just a sample of what the Left wants to do if they get power in Washington. They would stop our conservative agenda right in its tracks.

 All the progress we've made to help Americans -- to help Texans -- would be reversed.

 My opponent has also stated that he is "open" to abolishing ICE. That short-sightedness would have disastrous effects on our national security.

 That's the influence of the out-of-touch Hollywood elites, and liberal billionaires.

And I don't have to tell you how important it is to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. Liberals in the Senate will do EVERYTHING they can to make sure he is not confirmed before the next Congress starts.

 If we lose the majority in the Senate, there will be no chance to confirm more Constitutionalists to the lower courts. We need judges who don't legislate from the bench.

 There are stark differences between me and my opponent. I will always stand up for Texas values and I will always stand up for you.

Trump administration policies are responsible for a faster growing, more robust economy, which is incentivizing millions of Americans to get off the sidelines and back into the job market.

  But to continue to grow our economy, we will need capable workers. One place to find these workers is among low-income Americans who currently receive welfare benefits.

 While our welfare programs provide important assistance to help families make ends meet, especially in bad economic times, they don’t do enough to encourage work and eventual self-sufficiency in good times.

 The Trump administration recognizes this issue, which is why President Donald Trump signed an executive order in April instructing agencies to encourage and require work in welfare programs whenever possible under current law.

 A new report from the President’s Council of Economic Advisers shows why these efforts could bring more potential workers into the workforce. During the 1990s, a bipartisan effort transformed our cash welfare system by requiring and rewarding work among recipients.

 The result was an increase in single mothers’ employment, a lesser reliance on welfare programs and a reduction in poverty.

 But today, most welfare assistance to low-income families comes via non-cash programs such as health insurance and food stamps that do not require most non-disabled recipients to work or prepare to work in return for these taxpayer-provided benefits.

 Work is the best way to escape poverty.

As we show in our report, perhaps contrary to conventional wisdom, in a given month, the majority of Medicaid and food stamps adult beneficiaries are of working age and not disabled. Focusing solely on this “expected to work” population, we find that the majority do not work. That’s a problem because work is the single most important way to escape poverty, providing both “dignity,” in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 50 years ago, as well as the promise of more income than is possible while receiving welfare. And, in this hot economy, jobs are available.

 At some time in the lives of many people there comes a time when they need help and that is what the Welfare System was supposed to be, but over the years it has become a way of life and under obuma’s Socialist Regime it got completely out of control. - Once again President Trump is making America Great Again by putting OUR People to work.  The next step is to remove all of the Illegal Aliens from the Welfare Rolls, if you take away the money there is no reason for them to come here or to stay here!

 Was it not Jesus himself that said those that do not work, neither shall they eat.

There is a major problem for getting skilled workers from welfareites! We need tech savvy and skilled trades people, not snowflakes with bachelor’s in urban studies and master’s in ebonics. – Why did they eliminate all industrial arts programs and classes in high schools and move even the bare basics to community collages? – Seems like the school boards WANT to make sure the kids come out being useless snowflakes with no saleable skills.
