Some Assholes Robbed 112-Year-Old WWII Vet Richard Overton. Let’s Help Him Out.
6/29/18 by Sarah Rumpf
WWII veteran Richard Overton just turned 112 years old in May, making him America’s oldest living veteran and the oldest living man in the country, period.
He’s a whiskey-drinking, cigar-smoking national treasure who still lives in the same modest home he built in Austin, Texas after serving in the Army during World War II.
Unfortunately, some morally depraved dirtbags decided to rob him, cleaning out his bank account.
According to CBS Austin, Overton’s family told reporters that the thieves got access to his Social Security Number and bank account information, which they used to purchase savings bonds, eventually nearly emptying out the account.
Spectrum News Austin spoke to Overton’s cousin Volma Overton, Jr., who said that on Wednesday he went to the bank to deposit a check for Overton, and then noticed the discrepancy when he checked the account balance and a significant amount of money was missing. The bonds were purchased from a company called Treasury Direct in four separate payments over the past few months.
I wrote about Overton on his birthday, as he was preparing to celebrate with a street party in his front yard. Overton is well-known in the community for loving to spend time on his front porch visiting with his relatives, neighbors, and anyone who wants to stop by and chat for awhile.
https://www.facebook.com/CBSAustin/videos/10151038375719996/
Despite his age, he’s mentally sharp with a wit that has delighted — and occasionally shocked — reporters looking for a local human interest story. He’s had a few bouts with pneumonia during recent years but has so far been able to knock it back and return home, to the street that the Austin City Council had renamed in his honor.
Richard Overton’s home, on Richard Overton Avenue in Austin, Texas.
He is at the point, however, where living alone is no longer a possibility, and requires 24-hour in home caretakers. A GoFundMe page was set up by his family to help cover these expenses.
Fortunately, that GoFundMe account was not compromised by the bank account theft, but the theft was a significant loss of funds that he needs for living expenses.
When Overton was asked by comedian Steve Harvey what was the secret to his long life, he answered,
“Just keep living, don’t die.” He’s also told many reporters over the years, including me, that he credits
“God, whiskey, and cigars.”
OK, RedStaters. Let’s help Richard Overton “Just Keep Living” in his home by supporting the GoFundMe here: Help Richard Overton.
The WWII veteran turned a stunning 112 years old today, and will be celebrating at his home with his favorite whiskey and cigars, surrounded by the friends and family who are determined to allow him to live as independently as he can for as long as possible.
Richard Arvin Overton was born on May 11, 1906 in Bastrop County, Texas and joined the Army in 1940. The U.S. Military was still segregated then, and he served throughout the South Pacific in all-black units until the war ended in 1945, including stops in Hawaii, Guam, Palau, and Iwo Jima.
After the war, he returned to Texas and bought the land where he built the modest home he still owns in East Austin for $4,000. Overton worked for local furniture stores and the Texas Department of the Treasury, and married twice but never had children.

All in all, an admirable but not particularly newsworthy life — until Overton passed the century mark and just…kept…going, going, going!
News media looking for a good human interest story quickly discovered that Overton was absolutely delightful — a witty charmer who loved telling stories and showing the memorabilia he had collected over the years.
He has consistently thanked God, whiskey, and his favorite cigars (Tampa Sweet Perfectos, a dozen a day) for his longevity. When Comedian Steve Harvey asked Overton if there were any other secrets to a long life, Overton replied with his typical plainspoken humor, “Just keep living. Don’t die.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry stopped by Overton’s home in 2013 to wish him a happy birthday, bringing a bottle of bourbon, and Overton was honored with a visit to the White House later that same year, where black muslum resident barry obuma recognized him in a ceremony for veterans.
Last year, the city of Austin honored their longest resident by renaming Hamilton Avenue, the street where he lives, Richard Overton Avenue. A fitting honor for the man who has found such joy there, holding court on the front porch of his home whenever weather permits so he can chat with his neighbors, remaining family members (a first cousin lives down the street and a third cousin also lives in town), or the many well-wishers who drive down his street every day to shake his hand and get a photo.
What Does maxine waters Actually Do In Congress?
10/28/17 Timothy Meads
maxine wters (D-CA) has rebranded herself in the Trump Era as a strong public servant standing up to the corrupt, demagogic president. Repeatedly, she has harangued the president during speeches that range from AIDS fundraisers to LGBT Gala award dinners.
Today in Michigan, waters led a raucous chorus at a women’s rally, chanting “Impeach 45! Impeach 45!” But, people would be wise to remember that her career is one of corruption and failure. waters has passed just three bills in her 27 years in Congress. That means on average, Waters produces something noteworthy for constituents every 9 years. One of the bills was renaming a Post Office. Impressive stuff.
In the interim, she is busy making money for her family and allies. Her family has accrued more than a million dollars during her time in the House, according to Red Alert Politics.
The group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has given Rep. waters the most corrupt member of congress four separate times!
waters’ shady financial dealings should concern all Americans!
Democrats still have produced nothing that shows President Trump should be impeached, but financial kickbacks abound for liberal members of Congress like the “great stateswoman” waters in a slew of various ways.
Rep. Waters spoke today at a Women’s March Convention focusing largely on sexual assault. This is an important issue to focus on, especially in light of the heinous Harvey Weinstein revelations. The crowd no doubt enjoyed having Rep. waters present;
one woman telling the Detroit Free Press that she was still shaking from the experience.--
Nutcases do that, you know! "I loved how she called Trump out and I loved how she encouraged women to speak out and led us in an ‘impeach’ chant,” she said. “It was so powerful to hear thousands of women chant 'impeach.' I’m still shaking.” Nutcases do that, you know!
To all of the women chanting along with “Auntie maxine,” remember that aside from rhetorical posturing, she has done relatively little for you in nearly 30 years of public service.
Rep. maxine waters Announces She is Cancelling Events Due to a Serious Death Threat.
*** WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND! ****
6/28/18 Lauretta Brown
Rep. maxine waters (D-CA) announced Thursday that she is cancelling events due to a serious death threat and “hostile mail” she has been receiving.
"As the President has continued to lie and falsely claim that I encouraged people to assault his supporters, while also offering a veiled threat that I should 'be careful', even more individuals are leaving (threatening) messages and sending hostile mail to my office. There was one very serious death threat made against me on Monday from an individual in Texas which is why my planned speaking engagements in Texas and Alabama were cancelled this weekend. This is just one in several very serious threats the United States Capitol Police are investigating in which individuals threatened to shoot, lynch, or cause me serious bodily harm.," she said.
Last week, waters was criticized by her Democratic colleagues for encouraging her supporters at a rally to harass Trump officials in protest over the administration’s policies.
President Trump responded with a tweet Monday saying waters was "calling for harm" to his supporters.
"Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with nancy pukelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!" President Trump
waters clarified Monday that she was not calling for harm to Trump officials.
maxine's Shady Campaign Scheme Revealed.
6//29/18 by: TTN Staff
maxine water's is being called out for what looks like a suspect scheme to enrich people around her. Reports indicate she is the only person on the federal level to run such a scheme.
According to The Washington Free Beacon:
Rep. maxine waters's campaign has pulled in $56,000 this cycle through her "slate mailer" operation, filings show.
The mailers are sent out to more than 200,000 people in South Central Los Angeles and contain an "official sample ballot" and quotes from waters on the candidates or measures she supports. In exchange for placement on the mailer, waters's campaign committee receives a donation.
The payments to Citizens for waters this cycle range from $2,000 to $12,000 and have come from a handful of Mexifornia judicial candidates.
waters's campaign has collected the $56,000 from seven committees, filings show.
Citizens for waters, waters's campaign committee, runs the program. Karen, maxine's daughter, has collected more than $750,000 in "professional fees" from the campaign since the practice first was given the green light by the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
Apparently, this has been OK'd by the FEC. But this practice seems shady!

A new Harvard-Harris poll of registered voters on a wide range of issues is all bad news for Democrats with November's elections rapidly approaching. (Daily Wire)
The poll found that 47% currently approve of Trump's handling of the presidency, which is two points better than last month and about where Rasmussen puts him.
On the economy, a crucial indicator for midterms, the results are devastating for Democrats:
69% say the economy is either "very" or "somewhat" strong (just 31% disagree);
68% say their own financial situation is either improving or about the same (just 26% say it's "getting worse"); 58% approve of Trump's work on stimulating job creation, and about the same number, 57%, approve of his handling of the economy.
Overall, 46% say Trump is handling immigration well.
When specific decisions and policies are cited, it's clear that a strong majority agree with Trump on most of his key stances.
A few highlights (h/t Zipperer for pointing out several of these):
*70% want stricter enforcement of immigration law
*63% agree with Trump's DACA compromise
*73% agree with Trump's reversal of his separation policy
*61% agree with Trump that our border security is "inadequate"
*84% side with Trump against sanctuary city policies blocking notification of ICE
*76% are against the leftist idea of "open borders," and 69% are against the notion of disbanding ICE
*64% believe those who cross illegally should be sent home, and 61% said even those with children should be sent home
*55% want to hold illegal immigrants in custody (as opposed to 45% who agree with the Democrats' "catch and release" policy)
*53% say illegal crossing families with children should be held (47% said they should be released)
*88% believe parents and children should be held together
*48% said illegal immigration reduces wages to workers (42% said it has no effect; just 10% said it increases wages)
*38% said immigration was the most important issue facing the country (the highest percentage of any issue)
The poll also gave Trump high marks for his handling of terrorism and diplomacy.
Left-Leaning Netflix Investigated for Most Despicable of Crimes.

The streaming giant Netflix is under investigation for allowing child porn on its site. (The Daily Caller)
The Argentinian film “Desire” is the movie in question because it includes a graphic scene where two underage girls engage in “sexually suggestive behavior.”
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is currently investigating the movie, according to the Daily Mail.
“Sexually explicit content” does not have to depict “a child engaging in sexual activity,” according to Department of Justice guidelines. The movie could still be considered child pornography if the content meets the threshold of being “sufficiently sexually suggestive.”
The scene shows two young girls, 7- and 9-years-old, experimenting sexually by playing “horse” on pillows, reported Faithwire.
The film has been brought to the attention of the FBI, DOJ, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Jackie Kennedy Always Thought THIS Dem Ordered Her Husband's Assassination.
6/29/18 Source: AAN
Unsealed tapes finally made public reveal that till her dying day, Jackie Kennedy believed her husband's vice president and successor, Lyndon B. Johnson, planned the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. (IrishCentral)
In the sensational tapes recorded by the First Lady months after the President’s death, broadcast by ABC, Kennedy revealed her belief that Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons orchestrated the murder of her husband by gunman Lee Harvey Oswald.
Kennedy, who later became Jackie Onassis, claimed that the Dallas murder was part of a larger conspiracy to allow Johnson to become American President in his own right.
Johnson, who served as a member of Congress, completed Kennedy’s term after the assassination and went on to be elected president.
Leading historian Arthur Schlesinger Jnr recorded the tapes with Jackie Kennedy within months of her husband’s death. They have been stored in a sealed vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston after orders from Mrs. Kennedy that they would remain secret for 50 years after her death.
Years after her mother died from cancer, daughter Caroline has opted to release the tapes early. She has entered an agreement with the ABC network in the States who will air the tapes after agreeing to cancel their Kennedys drama series which upset Caroline and the Kennedy family.
The $10 million series starred Tom Cruise’s wife Kate Holmes as Jackie Kennedy and critically charted the family’s political and personal trials and tribulations since the 1930s. It has now been dropped in a deal with Caroline concerning these tapes.
It's worth noting, the Kennedy family tried to pressure film studios from producing "Chappaquiddick" – a dark horse Oscar contender that chronicles the night of and days after an intoxicated Senator Ted Kennedy killed a young woman and got away with it. Of course!
