Hundreds of  Biased Women Arrested on Capitol Hill for Protesting Immigration Policy.

 6/28/18   Cortney O'Brien

Hundreds of women have descended on Capitol Hill to protest the Trump administration's zero tolerance immigration policy which separates illegal alien families at the border.

The president has signed an executive order to keep families intact after widespread opposition, but his action does not reunite children already separated from their parents.

The protesters taking part in the "Women Disobey" demonstration, which was organized by the Women's March, blocked D.C. streets near the Department of Justice headquarters. Some carried signs that read, "Love is Power," "We Will Tear Down Your Walls," and "ICE Detains Humans."

Then, the marchers made their way to congressional buildings on Capitol Hill, risking arrest in the process. The crowd started chanting, "We care!," referring to first lady Melania Trump's wardrobe choice in Texas last week.

It wasn't just the nation's capital. Protesters rallied in all 50 states against the family detention policy.

Melania Trump Holds Roundtable at Border Detention Facility in Arizona.

 6/28/18 by Lauretta Brown

First Lady Melania Trump flew to Tucson, Arizona Thursday to hold a roundtable at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection detention facility with local officials.

"I know how dangerous and difficult your daily jobs are so I really appreciate all you do on behalf of the country," the first lady told the Border Patrol officials.

“I’m here to help and support you and give my help, whatever I can, on behalf of children and the families,” she added.

TCA Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch told Mrs. Trump “there’s been a lot of misinformation that’s been put out to the general public about the conditions of the facilities and how our people and how our people care for the immigrants that we do encounter.”

Mike Humphries, who runs the Office of Field Operations, pointed out that agents act to prevent human trafficking.

“We’ve really prevented instances of human trafficking where someone show up claiming to be a family unit and then we find out that the children are in no way,” he said, “not even a close relation to the adult in custody.”

The first lady asked Humphries how often they see children crossing without an adult.

He replied that since October 2017 “we’ve had 1,100 unaccompanied alien children entering the Arizona ports of entry.”

Mrs. Trump appeared touched by the amount of children in harm’s way crossing the border alone, noting, “it’s incredible, as young as six years old.”

One Border Patrol agent told the first lady that “as a mother it hurts to see the children. They don’t really know what’s going on and so our main concern is to remove them from that element at the desert, that dangerous element, and bring them to a safe environment where we have food, water, toys if they want it and just take care of them.”

“There’s a lot of parents in the border patrol that really care for the children,” she emphasized.

The first lady toured the facility following the roundtable. This is the second border detention facility she has toured this month, she visited a facility in Texas last Thursday where the media became caught up in the jacket she wore while boarding and leaving her flight. It had the words "I really don't care. Do U?" on the back and the biased media speculated as to its meaning.

The first lady’s communications director Stephanie Grisham said Mrs. Trump was not trying to send a message with the jacket, at all.

The Associated Press reported that for this flight Trump was wearing a black shirt and white slacks with no jacket.

Grisham said that the goal of the Arizona visit is to gain insight and continue to "encourage family reunification" and push Congress "to fix our broken immigration system."

"She recognizes it's a complex issue," Grisham said. "She definitely believes in strong border laws. She wants to make sure the kids are well taken care of."

Grisham told reporters that Mrs. Trump "shares her opinions and thoughts about family unification with the president directly and that he supported and urged her to make today’s trip."

Pg2)  Shooting In Maryland Newsroom.

3:39 pm  6/28/18  by Tom Knighton

Earlier today, a Maryland newspaper’s newsroom played host to such an attack.

News first broke via this tweet.

Anthony Messenger "Active shooter 888 Bestgate please help us.  1:43 PM - 6 /28/18  He’s an intern at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland.

Fox News is reporting multiple fatalities:

A suspect was apprehended following reports of shots fired and multiple fatalities in Annapolis, Maryland, Thursday afternoon outside the Capital Gazette newsroom, Anne Arundel Sheriff Ron Bateman told Fox News.

A short time ago, WBALTV reported that law enforcement is asking people to shelter in place, however, and are going floor to floor to make sure the building is indeed safe. Of course, that’s the cautious and correct way to look at a situation like this.

Meanwhile, WBAL Radio is reporting.

At least six people were injured in a shooting at the Capital Gazette building in Annapolis. One suspect is in custody.

Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and state police, along with officers from neighboring jurisdictions are at the scene in the 800 block of Bestgate Road, near the Annapolis Mall. Four of those wounded suffered critical injuries. Two state police helicopters have been called the scene, and a triage has been set up, SkyTeam 11 Capt. Roy Taylor reports.

They’re also reporting that some suspicious packages were found.

Parent newspaper, The Baltimore Sun ATF agents are on the scene, reports that. They also report that a police officer is on the scene in their newsroom. The paper says there aren’t any threats against the paper.

This is a fluid situation. While we’re being told six were shot, that number could go up or down as the day goes on.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.

3:47 EST Edit:  has been informed According to CNN, President Trump of the shooting. The president is in Wisconsin today to meet with supporters there and to attend a groundbreaking ceremony.

Lt. Ryan Frashure, spokesman for the police department said he can’t confirm if an arrest has actually been made or not “We’re doing the best we can,” he said. “We’re doing everything we can to get people out safe and we’re trying to minimize the casualties.”

Frashure said the shooting occurred at 888 Bestgate Road. Officers were evacuating the building to “make sure people are out safe.”

4:36 PM EST Update: CNN is reporting that the weapon used was a shotgun.

Multiple people were shot inside the newsroom at the Capital Gazette newspaper office in Annapolis, Maryland. Two law enforcement sources tell CNN there are multiple wounded and multiple fatalities.

5:55 PM EST Update: It now appears that police did find what they believed to be an explosive device inside the building.

From CNN:

Police recovered what they thought may have been an explosive device from inside the building of today’s shooting in Annapolis, Maryland, Anne Arundel County Acting chief William Krampf told reporters.

“We have members of the bomb squad on scene,” he said. “We don’t anticipate having anymore explosive devices.”

Meanwhile, Fox News is reporting that at least five people are dead.

At least five people were killed and several others were “gravely injured” during a shooting at the newsroom of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland.

Thursday afternoon, local officials said. An unidentified suspect is in custody, Anne Arundel Sheriff Ron Bateman told Fox News. A possible motive was unclear.

Authorities were called to the scene at Bestgate Road around 2:40 p.m. following word of an active shooter, Anne Arundel County Police Lt. Ryan Frashure told reporters. An investigation is underway but “at this point we believe that it is one suspect,” he said.

An official told The Associated Press the shooting suspect is a white male who was believed to have used a shotgun and is not cooperating with investigators.

6:20 PM EST Update: It seems that the suspect was found hiding under a desk, his weapon away from his person. It also seems that he may not have even intended to shoot up a newsroom. Per CNN:

Police found the suspect in today’s shooting hiding under a desk in the building, said Steve Schuh, Anne Arundel county executive.

The suspect’s weapon was on the ground, and “not in his immediate proximity,” he said.

He told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that authorities have a name on the gunman but are not able to confirm it.

When law enforcement officials entered the building, they found a package or carrying device, which contained a flammable liquid, on the ground, the shooting doesn’t appear to be well-planned. Schuh said.

U.S. House rejects immigration bill that included pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, border wall funding.  As expected, Republicans were unable to reconcile differences within their party to move a major immigration bill through the U.S. House chamber Wednesday.

  6/27/18

Despite a massive push from House GOP leadership, members of the Republican conference were unable to square away differences on a bill that would have provided funding for a border wall and a pathway to citizenship for recipients of the obuma-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as "Dreamers."

The vote failed by a lopsided 121-301.

President Donald Trump – after well over a week of flip-flopping on the legislation – backed the bill Wednesday morning.

"HOUSE REPUBLICANS SHOULD PASS THE STRONG BUT FAIR IMMIGRATION BILL, KNOWN AS GOODLATTE II, IN THEIR AFTERNOON VOTE TODAY, EVEN THOUGH THE DEMS WON’T LET IT PASS IN THE SENATE. PASSAGE WILL SHOW THAT WE WANT STRONG BORDERS & SECURITY WHILE THE DEMS WANT OPEN BORDERS = CRIME. WIN!" the president tweeted.

House GOP leadership put forward the bill in an attempt to tamp down a revolt from the moderate wing of the party.

In an end-run around their leaders, Republican moderates, like U.S. Rep. Will Hurd of Helotes, spent the early summer deploying an obscure procedural tactic called a 'discharge petition' in order to force a vote on several immigration bills.

Most of the 36-member Texas delegation voted against the bill, including all the Democrats.

Only Republican U.S. Reps. Joe Barton of Ennis, Kevin Brady of The Woodlands, Mike Conaway of Midland, Bill Flores of Bryan, Jeb Hensarling of Dallas, Michael McCaul of Austin and Mac Thornberry of Clarendon voted for the bill. Hurd voted against the bill.

Last week, a more conservative bill also failed on the House floor. House leaders had originally intended the compromise vote to take place on the same day. Amid concerns that the more moderate bill might not only fail but do so spectacularly, they kicked the vote back to this week, hoping to shore up support.

While Republicans called the measure a "compromise bill," the deal making occurred solely among members of the GOP.

Democrats were not a part of the process and unanimously opposed the bill.

The debate over this legislation began weeks ago, long before the immigration crisis on the border involving the separation of families exploded into the media consciousness – but it has no doubt been affected by the controversy.

Despite all of the effort, the bill's would have faced trouble in the U.S. Senate had it passed out of the House. Few Capitol Hill insiders believed the House compromise version had any shot in the upper chamber.

The Damage Stupid, Racial  NFL Kneelers Caused Comes To Light.

 6/27/18

Nearly half of the state’s registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of the National Football League, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll.

The recently mighty NFL faces both a political crisis over player protests and a public health crisis over the long-term effects of concussions in contact sports.

Players kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequity have attracted the wrath of President Donald Trump and his supporters. And increasing evidence that repeated concussions can cause long-term brain damage has eroded the sport’s reputation, particularly among kids, as a healthy activity.

“Trump made this an issue,” said Daron Shaw, co-director of the poll and a government professor at the University of Texas at Austin. “He understood that making this about the national anthem was good politically.

It’s very clear it has hurt the NFL, and that it’s polarized politically and polarized racially.”

Player protests and other issues have put the NFL in bad territory in Texas: It's very  unpopular!

UT/TT Poll: Football is popular in Texas. The NFL isn't.

Overall, 47% of voters said they have an unfavorable opinion of the NFL, including 28% who said they have a very unfavorable opinion!  27% said they have a favorable impression of the league.

Naturally, biased black voters had the most positive opinions of the NFL — 49% favorable and 24% unfavorable. Among stupid mexicano voters, 29% were positive and 39% were negative.

White voters were the least impressed of all:

Only 20% have a favorable impression of the league, while 55% have a negative impression!

“If football was trumping controversy, these numbers would be much more positive than they are,” said Jim Henson, co-director of the poll and head of the Texas Politics Project at UT-Austin. “And they would not show the demographic patterns that are clearly evident here.”

'Republicans Are Forbidden': LA Plastered With Nazi-Style Democratic Party Posters.

 6/27/18  ByJames Barrett

Sabo's latest installation: Nazi-style Democratic Party posters declaring in German and English that "Republicans are forbidden" and urging fellow Democrats to "Resist yourself! Do not buy Republican!"

In an emailed statement to the Daily Wire on Wednesday, Sabo said the project was inspired by the targeting of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, which "sent a chill" through him. "I had no plan to do anything on this subject or at least not until Sarah Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant where her and some family sat down for dinner," the artist told the Daily Wire. "It seems the Democrat owners don't welcome the patronage of Republicans."

The incident struck home for him, said Sabo, as he was recently targeted by businesses for his political views. "This actually sent a chill through me because just recently while visiting Austin Texas me and my party were asked to leave no less than three bars because one of us dared wear a MAGA hat," he said.

"We were told that our kind weren't welcomed there. What the hell 'kind' is that I wondered. Patriots, Republicans, Americans? It really freaked me out," he said. One of the saloon's, he said, "posted an apology on their Facebook page for allowing our party host an event in their bar. Leftists forced them to do that after they made numerous calls to complain."
"I created these signs to remind people that this has happened before and we should never forget," he said.

In addition to Sanders being told to leave the Red Hen restaurant, Homeland Security Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen has been personally targeted for protest, as has White House chief advisor Stephen Miller and Trump-supporting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who was allegedly spit on by activists.

Conservative Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) shredded Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein over the prodding Russia probe – telling him at a public hearing to "finish it the hell up because this country is being torn apart." (Fox News)
Gowdy’s excoriation marked a stunning moment at the already-tense House Judiciary Committee hearing, amid a months-long battle between congressional Republicans and the Department of Justice over its handling of both the Russia probe and Hillary Clinton email investigation.
At the hearing, Gowdy spoke to frustration over the protracted Russia investigation that Rosenstein oversees, suggesting that despite a host of charges against Trump-tied figures, the investigation has not found evidence of presidential wrongdoing.
“Whatever you got, finish it the hell up, because this country is being torn apart,” he said.

Republicans on Capitol Hill have criticized Rosenstein for months, alleging that the FBI and DOJ have stonewalled congressional committees' requests for pertinent documents in the Russia investigation.
Last week, the Justice Department gave House Republicans some of the documents requested, but only after lawmakers threatened to hold officials in contempt of Congress.

Rowdy Gowdy On Special Counsel: ‘Finish It The Hell Up’ !

 6/28/18  By 1600 Staff

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) delivered a stern warning to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

 Fox News reports:

Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy tore into Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Thursday over the long-running Russia collusion probe — telling the Justice Department at a public hearing to “finish it the hell up because this country is being torn apart.”

Gowdy’s excoriation marked a stunning moment at the already-tense House Judiciary Committee hearing, amid a months-long battle between congressional Republicans and the Department of Justice over its handling of both the Russia probe and Hillary Clinton email investigation.

“We’ve seen the bias, we need to see the evidence,  If you have evidence of wrongdoing by any member of the Trump campaign, present it to the damn grand jury.  If you have evidence that this president acted inappropriately, present it to the American people." Gowdy said.

Rosenstein and Wray have been criticized for months by Republicans on Capitol Hill who have suggested that the agencies are stonewalling congressional committees’ requests for documents related to the beginning of the Russia investigation.

Committees have requested documents related to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants issued to surveil former Trump campaign associate Carter Page and on the FBI’s use of a confidential human source in the Trump campaign—also known as an FBI informant.

Democrats have pushed back against those requests, with Democratic leaders sending a letter to Rosenstein and Wray on Tuesday, expressing concern that the agencies are bowing to pressure from Republicans to disclose sensitive information.

Rosenstein is on the hill being question about his stalling and concealing of evidence from Congress related to the Special Counsel investigation, which he oversees for the Department of Justice. Rosenstein has alleged that he is offended by the inappropriate conduct of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who have become infamous for conspiring against President Trump as they conducted surveillance on his 2016 campaign.

"When is Bob Mueller going to list his Conflicts of Interest? Why has it taken so long? Will they be listed at the top of his $22,000,000 Report…And what about the 13 Angry Democrats, will they list their conflicts with Crooked k? How many people will be sent to jail/ and persecuted on old and/or totally unrelated charges (there was no collusion and there was no obstruction of the no collusion)…And what is going on in the FBI & DOJ with Crooked killary, the DNC and all of the lies? A disgraceful situation!"  Donald J. Trump 6/28/18

The bottom line is that the investigation is taking its toll on America, and Rep. Gowdy is voicing the frustration of millions who want a conclusion for the never-ending Mueller Investigation that seems to be a solution in search of a problem.
