Laura Bush hits fundraising circuit for Jeb

Laura Bush is hitting the fundraising circuit to help reinvigorate her brother-in-law’s presidential campaign.

The former first lady is scheduled to host a pair of fundraisers to benefit former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush next month in the Sunshine State, Bloomberg reported.

On Oct. 6, Laura Bush will host a group of donors in suburban Orlando. The next day, she’ll jointly host a second event in Palm Beach with Columba Bush, Jeb's wife.

The former two-term Republican governor has tried not to tie himself too closely to his brother former President George W. Bush’s administration.

But in recent days, Bush has tapped both his brother and father, former president George H.W. Bush, to help raise money.

George W. Bush hosted a fundraiser Thursday in New York and is scheduled to hold two events later this month, one in Texas and another in Arkansas, Bloomberg reported.

George H.W. Bush, who served one term from 1989 to 1993, will also join his son George W. Bush at a donor retreat Oct. 25 in Houston.

“Politics, you know, really does end up being a family business,” Laura Bush told audiences during her husband’s presidency. “Everyone gets involved, whether they want to or not.”

Seen as a likely frontrunner when he entered the race, Jeb Bush has faded in the polls in recent weeks, losing ground to business mogul Donald Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

Scalpers Sell Tickets to Donald Trump Dallas Rally for Up to $200 a Pair

Donald Trump’s rallies have proven so popular that now tickets to his events are being scalped like rock concert tickets. A pair of tickets for the upcoming Dallas, Texas, event, for instance, is selling for up to $200 online, a report says.

Politico reported on Friday that tickets for Trump’s Dallas event ran out in short order, but tickets that went out to fans for free are being sold for big dollars on sites like Craigslist and eBay.

Tickets went up for grabs on Monday for the September 14^th rally to be held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, but only a few days later, the supply of 20,000 passes was already distributed.

However, fans may still have a chance to get their tickets if, that is, they are willing to pay for what were originally free tickets.

One eBay ad, for instance, had a pair of tickets for $200.

Saying, “Don’t miss this great event!,” another ad on eBay was selling a pair of tickets for a starting bid of $99.

On Craigslist, one Trump fan said that he couldn’t attend but was willing to sell his single ticket for $60 or a best offer price.

Another Craigslist ad was selling a pair of Trump rally tickets for $100.

Official ticket selling services like StubHub, though, are not selling the Trump rally tickets because they were originally free.

Trump bid Rick Perry adieu and lashed out at Dr. Ben Carson.

Trump told the crowd his campaign hat is “the hottest thing in fashion.”

Donald Trump joked that the engineer of an approaching train slowed down to hear his speech.
Radio Iowa reported:

Republican candidate Donald Trump says American voters want a president with an “aggressive tone” and that’s why he’s leading in the polls.

“I think today we’re looking for real super competence. We’re tired with this nice stuff. We need people that are really, really smart and competent and can get things done,” Trump said in Boone, Iowa, to cheers. “We need people with an aggressive tone and we need people with tremendous energy.”

Trump paused slightly at this point, before adding: “And I’m your candidate, O.K.?”

The crowd of about 600 cheered. Trump spoke early this afternoon, right next to the busy railroad tracks that run east to west through Boone.

“Oh, I love that sound, mm,” Trump said as the engineer braked and the sound reverberated through Boone’s downtown area. “But you know, when I’m president that train’s going to be going a hell of a lot faster. It’s going too slow. No, it’s true.”

As the crowd laughed and clapped, Trump joked the engineer had slowed the train because he wanted to listen to the speech.

The crowd cheered loudly when Trump repeated his promise to “build the wall” along the U.S. border with Mexico to “stop illegal immigration.”

“If you’re illegal, you’ve got to go back,” Trump said, as some in the crowd yelled, “Yeah.”

They cheered his promise to cut taxes for the middle class and raise taxes on wealthy “hedge fund managers”. There was only a smattering of applause, though, when Trump mentioned Rick Perry, the former Texas governor who dropped out of the race Thursday.

Trump: Hedge Funds Have Jeb And Hillary In Their Pockets [VIDEO]

While being interviewed on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” Sunday, Republican front-runner Donald Trump said that “hedge fund guys” exert significant influence over both Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush, and when those candidates talk about reforming Wall Street and campaign finance law, “they don’t mean it.”

TRUMP: I know these guys. They’re all supporting Jeb Bush, for the most part, and Hillary Clinton. It’s funny when I hear them talk about, “Oh, we’ve got to change this and that,” they don’t mean it because they’re totally controlled. In particular, Hillary and Jeb are controlled by the hedge fund guys, you know the Wall Street guys but hedge funds in particular. They pay very little tax, and when I come out with my poll over the next three weeks … for the middle class, we’re going to be cutting taxes, but the hedge fund guys will be paying up.
