Hillary Clinton denounced Donald Trump for not correcting a question at his Thursday rally insinuating the president isn’t American — calling the GOP front-runner “disturbing, & just plain wrong — yet she employed a very similar tactic during her primary campaign against then-Sen. Barack Obama during the 2008 election.

In 2008, Politico ran a piece criticizing Clinton’s campaign for supplying “Drudge Report” with a photo of Obama “dressed as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.”
Obama’s campaign called Clinton’s actions “shameful offensive fear-mongering,” yet the criticism was laughed off by the Clinton campaign. Campaign manager Maggie Williams even said that, “if Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed.”
