It will be interesting to see where that goes.

Rand Paul: Cruz 'can't get anything done'

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) slammed Sen. Ted Cruz on Tuesday, saying the Texas Republican "can't get anything done legislatively" and "is pretty much done for" in the Senate.

"Ted has chosen to make this really personal and called people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence he can’t get anything done legislatively," he told Fox News Radio.

"He is pretty much done for and stifled, and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem."
Paul's comments come after Cruz was unable to garner enough support among his colleagues to get a roll call vote on an amendment Monday, with Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) the only senator to back him. It's the second time since late July that his Republican colleagues have helped deny the Texas Republican a "sufficient second."

Both Cruz and Paul, who are running for the Republican presidential nomination, have battled with their leadership since the GOP took over the Senate majority in January. But Paul suggested he's tried to avoid making policy fights, including a battle earlier this year on the National Security Agency (NSA), personal.

Asked whether Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had "let him down," Paul said instead that "I would say we have disagreements on tactics."

Referring back to Cruz, Paul added that "I am just as hardcore. ... I just chose not to call people liars on the Senate floor, and it’s just a matter of different perspectives on how best to get to the end result.”

Cruz ruffled feathers among his Senate colleagues earlier this year when he accused McConnell of lying over whether he made a deal tied to reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank.

The speech raised questions on whether the Texas Republican had violated Senate rules, and it earned him swift pushback from McConnell's allies in the Senate.

Trump defends name-calling in Fox News return

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump returned to Fox News on Tuesday night after a brief boycott, and defended the fierce rhetorical attacks he’s lobbed against his rivals for the GOP nomination.

Last week, Trump said he was done giving interviews to Fox News, arguing the network has treated him unfairly.

But Trump, who is expected to meet with Fox News chairman Roger Ailes and other executives soon, returned to the network on Tuesday night.

“I’m back,” Trump said an interview on “The O’Reilly Factor.” “It feels good.”

Anchor Bill O’Reilly prefaced many of his questions to Trump by asking whether it would be fair for him to broach a certain topic.

O’Reilly focused heavily Trump’s temperament, challenging him to admit that he has occasionally crossed the line in going after his rivals.

“Am I fair to say that for you to win, you’ll have to change your style and be kinder and more mature?” O’Reilly asked.

“I think it’s fair,” Trump responded. “I think ‘mature’ is probably not appropriate, but I think it’s certainly fair. … But it’s not going to be a question of nice. I think I’m a nice person. I have great relationships. … I help people. I love people. But it’s not going to be that. It’s going to be a question of confidence, because people are tired of being pushed around by every country in the world.”

O’Reilly pointed to Trump’s name-calling, and particularly the insults he's aimed recently at Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). Trump has called Rubio a "clown" and a "baby."

“Would it be unfair if I told you that calling Sen. Rubio a clown is not presidential?” O’Reilly asked.

“No, I don’t think you’d be unfair,” Trump responded. “But I have to tell you how that all started. I was getting along with him perfectly fine. Two weeks ago, everything was fine. I don’t really know him. And then all of a sudden, he attacks me about nothing, really attacked me quite viciously, and I fought back. … I’m a counter-puncher.”

Trump then went into an extended riff attacking Rubio as having “the worst voting record in the Senate,” and for being “unbelievably weak on immigration.”

At the end of the interview, O’Reilly asked Trump whether he believes he was treated fairly in this latest Fox News appearance.

“You’re very good, you’re always fair,” Trump said. “Almost [always].”

Marco Rubio Skips Critical Senate Vote to Fund Government and Planned Parenthood

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) skipped the critical vote this week to fund government.

By skipping the vote, Rubio avoided the vote to fund Planned Parenthood.
Breitbart.com reported:

GOP primary contenders Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) skipped a critical cloture vote that allowed Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’s plan to fund the government, including Planned Parenthood, to move forward without risking a shutdown.

That means Rubio and Graham, for whatever reason, skipped a key vote that would have shown where their allegiances lie regarding funding for the highly controversial abortion provider, which, based on recent undercover video investigations, is in the business of selling aborted baby body parts to the highest bidder.

The vote succeeded 77 to 19 without Rubio or Graham’s help, thanks to every Democrat in the U.S. Senate voting for McConnell’s Continuing Resolution (CR). But Rubio and Graham skipped the vote that matters; cloture is the only place where McConnell and his allies in the Democratic conference could be stopped. So both can claim on the presidential campaign trail how pro-life they are all they want, but when push came to shove–when the pro-life community needed them most–they were not there.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), on the other hand, were present and voted “no.” Cruz did so with extraordinary criticisms of GOP leadership, including McConnell.

One more thing Rubio is doing to show who he REALLY is!

Rubio is a joke and to think Jenny B M was trying to rally TPP behind this puppet. Thank goodness people do not follow these charlatans as easily as in the past.

Elections

Could CNBC Put The Campaigns Of Christie, Paul And Huckabee On Death Watch?

If you’re not on stage for the next GOP debate, can your presidential campaign continue to make a sound?

At the third GOP presidential debate next month in Colorado, host network CNBC is suggesting that the criteria for making the main stage debate will be stricter than previous debates — and there will reportedly be no “happy hour” debate at all.

“I don’t believe in setting a set number,” NBC political director Chuck Todd, who is helping set entrance criteria for the debate, recently explained on ESPN radio. “I think maybe you come up with ‘oh are you at 5 percent or more in Iowa or New Hampshire’ you can create a sort of floor, no more 4-percenters get in, no more 3-percenters get in.”

We do not know yet whether that will be the standard. But if the debate was held today, such a standard would eliminate Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, all of whom are polling under 5 percent in both Iowa and New Hampshire, according to the RealClearPolitics averages of those states.

Of course, other presidential contenders like South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, former New York Gov. George Pataki, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore are also below the 5 percent mark, but they have never appeared at any of the main stage debates and have long been considered little more than candidates-in-name-only.

The salient question is: can the campaigns of candidates who were once perceived as higher-tier like Paul, Christie and Huckabee survive if they are excluded from October’s debate stage?

None of their campaigns responded to a Daily Caller request for comment on what the path to the nomination would be if their candidates were excluded from the October 28 debate. But failing to make the debate stage would certainly give a candidate the stench of death — with all the negative consequences that go along with it.

“I would think it would have a chilling effect on contributors and lead to an unflattering narrative about the candidates’ prospects,” Stu Rothenberg, founding editor of the The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report, explained to The Daily Caller.

In the case of Paul’s campaign, some are already seeing the vultures circling. On Monday, the Hill reported that the Kentucky senator would take a break from his presidential campaign this week to focus on fundraising for his Senate re-election campaign.

“If he thought he’d be the nominee, he wouldn’t spend time hedging his bets and raising money for the Senate race,” a Kentucky political operative told the Hill. “I think that tells you everything you need to know.”

To me this is a clear example of how the liberal media are mistreating the GOP campaigns. Now they are talking of excluding someone with 2% standing in polls?

And yet, the Democratic debate will have all of them, including the guy from RI who doesn't even register in the polls. And even Biden, who isn't a declared candidate.

Republican presidential candidate, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) speaks during a Anti-abortion rally opposing federal funding for Planned Parenthood in front of the U.S. Capitol July 28, 2015 in Washington, DC. Planned Parenthood faces mounting criticism amid the release of videos by a pro-life group and demands to vote in the Senate to stop funding.

Jeb Bush Funded by George Soros’s Chinese Business Partner

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s oil shipping business is partly financed by progressive billionaire George Soros’s Chinese business partner and protégé.

by Patrick Howley29 Sep 2015, 7:38 PM PDT

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s oil shipping business is partly financed by progressive billionaire George Soros’s Chinese business partner and protégé.

Bush’s ties to the left-wing Democratic donor could cast further suspicion on his personal business dealings during the Republican primary season.

Bush is the chairman of BH Logistics, a $26 million private equity fund that was incorporated in April 2014. Who invested in BH Logistics?

Bush’s firm received a major investment from HNA Group, a Chinese private equity firm. Bush took the money from HNA Group and spent it to invest in the gas shipping company Dorian LPG, which is incorporated in the Republic of The Marshall Islands.

What is HNA Group? And more importantly, who funds it?

Look no further than George Soros.

HNA Group’s chairman Chen Feng is one of China’s wealthiest businessmen, and he has Soros to thank for it. Feng, chairman of Hainan Airlines, secured a $25 million investment from Soros in 1995 after a personal New York City meeting. In 2000, he formed HNA Group to become the parent company of Hainan Airlines. Soros invested an additional $25 million in Hainan Airlines in 2005.

HNA Group now reports $17.5 billion in revenue and owns $58 billion in assets.

Soros and HNA Group launched a joint venture in 2007 called Grand China Airlines Holding Company, which is now the majority stakeholder in Hainan Airlines. The group announced in 2014 that it was increasing its investment in Hainan Airlines. Soros owns 18.6 percent of Grand China Airlines Holding Company, with HNA Group holding 32.8 percent, and the Hainan provincial government owning the other 48.6 percent. HNA Group owns 500 operational jets through Hainan Airlines.

The Bush campaign did not provide comment for this report.
