Florida Poll: Trump, Carson Lead,

Jeb Bush Drops to Fifth

Jeb Bush’s latest campaign reboot, “Jeb Can Fix It,” seeks to highlight his record as Governor of the Sunshine State. Unfortunately for Jeb, however, whatever accomplishments he had as Governor seem like ancient history. He left the Governor’s mansion almost a decade ago and was last on the ballot in Florida 13 years ago. With just a fifth place showing in this latest poll of Florida, it seems Jeb will have to spend considerable energy reminding the state’s own voters about his record as Governor.

Rubio: Cruz ‘bragged’ about his work permits for illegals

Getty Images

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Friday he is “puzzled” by barbs from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) over illegal immigration in their race for the GOP presidential nomination

“I’m puzzled and quite frankly surprised by Ted’s attacks, since Ted’s position on immigration is not much different than mine,” he told reporters during a press conference after the Sunshine Summit in Orlando.

“Senator Cruz clearly supported an amendment, and he bragged about how this amendment would bring people out of the shadows and how it would legalize people that are in this country illegally,” Rubio continued, referencing 2013 negotiations over comprehensive immigration reform legislation.

“He made clear that he believed, that, in fact, that amendment should have been adopted,” he added of Cruz’s proposed changes to a bill written by the Gang of Eight.

“He, in fact, bragged about the fact that he did not undermine the pathway for legalization for people that were in this country illegally.”

Rubio then proposed that Cruz has actually supported more sweeping solutions for illegal immigration than he has.

“On other issues regarding immigration, he’s gone much further than I have,” he said.

“He wanted to double the number of green cards [and] he wanted a 500 percent increase in the number of H-1B visas,” Rubio added. "If he’s changed his position, he certainly has a right to change his position on this issue, but he should be clear about that."

Rubio argued that he remains the only Republican White House hopeful with a coherent strategy for solving the illegal immigration crisis.

“Everybody running for president on the Republican side, in one way or shape, supports some form or fashion the legalization of people that are in this country illegally,” he said.

“It begins with border security and ensuring illegal immigration is under control,” Rubio said of his strategy. "The second step would be to modernize our legal immigration system.

“At this point, what I’m arguing is this is the only way forward,” he added. "This is the only way we’re going to be able to deal with this issue is if we do it in the way I’ve outlined.”

Rubio and Cruz began openly battling over immigration Thursday afternoon after months of simmering tensions.

Cruz directly confronted Rubio over his part in the Gang of Eight talks, arguing he opposed “every single amendment” bolstering border security in 2013.

“The Gang of Eight, all eight of them, agreed to vote against every amendment that would strengthen the bill from an enforcement perspective,” he said. "The Gang of Eight voted as a gang against enforcing and securing the border.”

Cruz then argued that should the GOP nominate a candidate who supported the bill, the party would forfeit “one of the major distinctions with [Democratic presidential front-runner] Hillary Clinton,” effectively costing them the 2016 election.

Rubio countered that he is not interested in straddling “the middle line” on the issue.

“It’s not about a middle line, it’s about reality,” he said. "People will have to be deported, there’s no doubt about it. But we also have to deal realistically with the fact that we have 12 or 13 million people or whatever it is.”

Both men are locked in a fierce struggle for third and fourth place in the GOP’s presidential primary across multiple national polls. Rubio leads Cruz by just over 2 points, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of samplings.

Trump steers clear of Carson day after barbs

Just one day after an hour-and-a-half speech where he lampooned Ben Carson over his life story, Donald Trump steered entirely clear from his GOP presidential rival during a speech in Florida.

Trump's speech at the Sunshine Summit, sponsored by the Republican Party of Florida, instead served as a victory lap where he praised his omniscience on a variety of issues. He noted that the U.S. is now bombing oil fields held by the Islamic State months after he called for that policy, and said his hardline stance on immigration has been proven right.
The real-estate magnate turned politician briefly criticized Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Marco Rubio (Fla.), who have been sparring of late over immigration as they have risen in the polls.

"I watched Ted Cruz and I watched Marco Rubio, they are fighting over whose tougher," he said.

"Let me tell you something. I was tougher when it wasn’t very politically popular being tough. And I took a lot of heat.”

As he gestured back toward the media covering his speech, he noted that "I was taking a lot of abuse from those characters right back there."

And he needled former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for middling poll numbers in his home state.

"Thirty seven percent for Trump, 16 percent for Rubio," he said to cheers, although it was unclear for which candidate the audience was cheering.

"I won't tell you what Bush is, but he's not too good."

Trump was seemingly referring to the Bay News 9/News 13 Florida Decides survey from earlier this month, where Bush finished in fourth with 7 percent. A Florida Times-Union poll out this week showed Trump at 23 percent; Bush was in fifth place at 11 percent.

Trump's silence on Carson came one day after he skewered the former neurosurgeon for alleged inconsistencies over his life story, specifically his claim that he stabbed someone as a child but the victim was protected by his belt buckle.

"How stupid are the people of Iowa? How stupid are the people of the country to believe this crap?" Trump asked.

Trump: Is Carson a 'violent criminal' or a 'pathological liar'?

Donald Trump is ratcheting up his already ferocious assault against his chief rival in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Ben Carson.

Following an explosive 95-minute-long rant Thursday night in Iowa that some in the media described as “off the rails," Trump is refusing to relent, releasing a short but sharp Instagram video underlining his challenge to the veracity of Carson’s now-infamous stabbing story.

The Friday the 13th-themed ad opens with Carson recounting his attempt to stab a friend as a teen as eerie music reminiscent of the classic horror film "Halloween" plays in the background.

A neighbor of Carson’s, in a CNN interview, is then shown rejecting the notion that the retired neurosurgeon would try to stab another person.

“Violent criminal? Or pathological liar?” the ad asks. "We don’t need either as president.”

Carson: Don't let Middle Eastern refugees into US

Getty Images

In the wake of apparent terror attacks in Paris on Friday, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said the United States should deny refugees from the Middle East admittance into the country.

“There are those out there who have a thirst for innocent blood in an attempt to spread their philosophy and their will across this globe,” Carson said at the Sunshine Summit in Orlando, Fla., according to the Washington Post. “We must redouble our efforts and our resolve to resist them. Not only to contain them, but to eliminate that kind of hatred in the world."

Carson called the “global Islamic movement” an “existential threat” and said lawmakers should block the Obama administration from allowing more refugees from the Middle East into the United States.

“It’s very different than anything we’ve ever faced before,” Carson said. “Congress does have a role to play here, and it’s not just being the peanut gallery.

“If we’re going to be bringing 200,000 people over here from that region — if I were one of the leaders of the global jihadist movement and I didn’t infiltrate that group of people with my people, that would almost be malpractice,” Carson added.

Carson said if he were president, he would work with the United States’ allies “using every resource known to man in terms of economic resources, in terms of covert resources, overt resources, military resources, things-that-they-didn’t-know-about resources,” he said.

The presidential candidate also slammed the Obama administration for not recognizing “that once you’ve gotten a place like Iraq under control, you don’t withdraw, which leaves an incredible vacuum and allows for the development of things like ISIS."

OF course this RINO is also a traitor!

Graham: Obama is 'not a traitor'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) corrected a woman who called President Obama a "traitor" during an event on Friday.

“He’s a traitor,” the woman called out during Graham’s appearance at the Sunshine Summit in Orlando, accusing the president of betraying the U.S. with the Iran nuclear deal.

“No, ma’am, he’s not a traitor,” Graham responded. "He just doesn’t know what he’s doing."

Graham went on to criticize the president's policies.

“The last thing you want to do is continue the foreign policy of Barack Obama,” the 2016 presidential candidate added.

“I don’t want a war with Iran. I just don’t ever want the most radical, religious, extremist nation in the region to acquire nuclear weapons and use them on Israel before coming after us.”

Graham said Obama's landmark diplomatic accord with Iran would gravely endanger Americans.

“Some people say, 'Let’s manage this deal with Iran' — I say tear it up,” he said. "The only reason they haven’t done more damage to the world is because they just don’t have the capabilities yet.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have never feared another 9/11 more than I have at this moment," he continued. "The next president needs to know what they’re doing or we’re going to pay a heavy price.”

Graham had made foreign policy, in particular the threat to the U.S. from extremists abroad, a centerpiece of his campaign.

He also blasted Obama's domestic agenda.

“President Obama has been a lousy president for people of color,” Graham said. "To those who say Republicans have to be socially liberal to win elections, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

“Who is the most pro-life demographic in all of America? It is the Hispanics,” Graham continued. "Which group in America believes in traditional marriage the most? It is the African-Americans.

“We have a good chance of winning this election because they screwed up,” he added of the Democrats. "But I don’t want to win an election because they screwed up. I want to win this election because we have something better to offer.”

Graham’s rebuke of the "traitor" charge comes as other Republican 2016 hopefuls have been criticized for remaining silent when supporters harshly criticize the president.

Former business CEO Carly Fiorina and real estate mogul Donald Trump both refrained from correcting audience members who suggested Obama is Muslim earlier this year.

Graham remains a long-shot bid for next year’s GOP presidential nomination. He typically registers below 1 percent in most national polls.

EXCLUSIVE: As Paris Burned, UK Muslims Told To ‘Struggle’ For Islamic State In Unprecedented Islamist Show Of Force

BEDFORD, United Kingdom – As the distressing attacks in Paris were occurring last night, some of Britain’s most high profile and notorious Islamist extremists gathered just north of London, unimpeded, to tell hundreds of British Muslims to “struggle” for an “Islamic State.” Breitbart London was there.

At the “Quiz a Muslim” event held last night in the Corn Exchange in Bedford, panelists called British values were “junk”, demanded that Muslims should “define” British law, and ominously, appeared to suggest Muslims were at war with the British.

The event was organised and chaired by Bedford-born blogger Dilly Hussain; an avid Islamist and a supporter of a global Islamic caliphate.

Mr Hussain described the event as “sort of like an Islamic Question time” – except during Question Time, there are usually disagreements. This event saw an all-male panel of “community leaders” talking to a completely segregated room, with little to disagree on.

One panellist billed to appear – Hamza Tzortzis – did not show. It is not known whether this was related to the recent revelations that showed him appearing on the extra-marital affairs website, Ashley Madison.

The group addressed the issue of how anyone could possibly have a negative opinion of some interpretations of Islam.

“Television is a form of hypnotism”, said Abdur Raheem Green, chairman of the Islamic Education and Research Academy (iERA) which is known for sending hate preachers to UK campuses. Mr. Green is perhaps best known for his comment: “Islam is not compatible with democracy”, and for stating that a husband may use “physical force… a very light beating” against his wife.

Last night he said of television: “It is the most powerful form of indoctrination… the CIA knows…”

The other panellists agreed; the media was to blame for Islam getting a bad reputation.

IMG_2538

The room was segregated (Breitbart London/Rachel Megawhat)

When Dr. Haitham al-Haddad, who was introduced as a scholar of “Islamic sciences”, asked the room if attendees were British, there was a long pause and an uncomfortable murmuring. Dr. Haddad has previously made deeply disparaging remarks about Jewish people, and is even claimed to have said that the late Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden would go to heaven.

Taji Mustafah, a senior member of the global Islamist network Hizb ut Tahrir, which works towards a caliphate, interjected: “This is a loaded question… What does it mean?” he asked. Adding later: “All these things celebrated as English, it doesn’t mean a thing”. He called British values “junk”.

“We should not ask if we need to catch up with the British”, responded Dr. Haddad, “We should be partners in defining what British is… in what the law of the land is.” All seemed to agreed that “gods law” should always be “superior” to “man made law”.

Mr. Mustafah also took the time to clarify that Islam is a “religion of war and peace, it governs every aspect of life… politics… including what you eat and wear”.

Later, when former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg condemned ISIS because they are “killing Muslims”, a total of five people in the room of 200 could be heard clapping. When he said David Cameron was an “extremist”, almost the entire room applauded for a sustained period.

Immediately after condemning ISIS they each reaffirmed, however, the “Islamic” duty to “struggle” for an “Islamic state.”

As Maajid Nawaz, a government counter-extremism adviser explained on Facebook:

“Every single one of these speakers is a Caliphate-advocating Islamist, they believe in every core principle ISIS believes in, and they reject ISIS merely because they made their move for a Caliphate ‘too soon and too fast’.”

Adding: “You couldn’t make this sh*t up. Friday 13th nightmare, as all-male Islamist Rogues’ Gallery.”

IMG_2550

Women dressed “modestly” (Breitbart London/Rachel Megawhat)

Mr. Begg managed to produced an even more chilling moment however, when He appeared to suggest British Muslim were already at war with the UK in a strange analogy.

According to a Quranic story, explained Begg, “the people of Medina went to war with Persia.” One of the key characters in this tale, on the Muslim side, was of Persian origin. “He kept his name” said Begg, which contained the word “Persian.”

Therefore, “you can be a ‘British Muslims’,” he said, “It’s fine to call yourself a ‘British Muslim’ right now” he said, as if to suggest that British Muslim were somehow set against Britons as early Muslims were with the Persians.

In days before, the event had cause some alarm in the old Saxon town, just 50 miles north of London, with a population of just 80,000. There were rumours it would be cancelled.

However, 5Pillarsuk, the organiser’s website, tweeted on Thursday that they “commend” Dave Hodgson, the Liberal Democrat Mayor of Bedford for “allowing” the event to go ahead. Mr.Hussain said last night that he “hoped more councils” would invite Islamists to town.

Mr. Hussain told Bedford Today: “Some of [the speakers] are very controversial, some of them have said things that have been deemed distasteful.”

“On the flip side” he said, “none of them have broken any laws and none of them are convicted criminals.

The event, which saw Islamists themselves pit Islam and their end goals against the idea of British values, took place just a few hours before word reached the international media of the Islamist terrorist attacks in Paris, France.

One terrorist was heard to make reference to Syria – a place where Mr. Begg has been arrested for travelling to, with allegations of terror-related activity raised by the police. The charges against Mr. Begg were eventually dropped.

WHO’S WHO FROM THE ISLAMIST RALLY LAST NIGHT

The speakers on stage last night were some of the country’s most notorious hate preachers who have been banned from university campuses and allied themselves with some of the most racist, hateful, and anti-Western rhetoric the country has seen in the last decade.

Haitham al-Haddad – Sits on the UK’s Islamic Sharia Council, is known for his radical statements like “Jews are the enemies of God and the descendants of apes and pigs”, and had his speeches at the University of Westminster cancelled after it emerged that Mohamed Emwazi (Jihadi John) attended, and was potentially radicalised there. Haddad has said that Muslims should “be ready to pay the price for this victory from our blood” and has told fellow Muslims “to prepare themselves for jihad, all over the world.” He has said the death sentence for apostasy (leaving Islam) “makes perfect sense”.

Sulaiman Ghani – Has spoken in support of convicted Al Qaeda terrorists, and even appeared side by side with the Labour Party’s 2016 London Mayor candidate Sadiq Khan during a rally against Guantanamo Bay. He has said that women should be “subservient” and never be leaders, and was exposed by the Daily Mail as having worked as a “Muslim chaplain” in Britain’s National Health Service, all the while opposing organ donations.

Adnan Rashid – Has written that “the Islamic model supported by Shari’ah is a cohesive model that allows a diverse multitude of ethnicities to co-exist”. Rashid has defended the pro-Bin Laden preacher Zakir Naik, stating, “If Zakir Naik is an extremist then who is normal? How many people has he killed? How many rapes is he responsible for? How many countries has he raided and plundered?” He has also asserted that Saudi Arabia is a better place to live for women: “I’d rather women live in Saudi Arabia under the protection of Islam (and not drive, which I dont agree with) than get raped and prostitute themselves to feed their families.”

Dilly Hussain – Has a hagiographic Wikipedia page despite only running a blog, and is obsessed with trashing the British Empire. He has described the expose around the Trojan Horse plot – where Islamists infiltrated schools around the United Kingdom and implemented hard line, Islamic procedures – as “debunked”. He has urged more Muslims to infiltrate the media to change the narrative around radicalism, extremism, and terrorism – conflating journalism with activism, laughably claiming that Muslim’s Facebook statuses should be turned into blogs and sent to the mainstream media to “get your foot in the door”

Taji Mustafa – Is a long-standing Hizb ut Tahrir activist. The organisation pushes for a global caliphate, but considers itself non-violent. The group’s website has previously hosted anti-Semitic material, and it is believed to be involved with radical university societies around the country which hide behind names such as the “Global Ideas Society” at the University of Westminster, where Jihadi John went to university. The British government promised in 2010 to ban Hizb ut Tahrir, but it never happened.

Abdur Raheem Green – Has said that “Islam teaches its followers to seek death on the battlefield” and that “dying while fighting Jihad is one of the surest ways to paradise and Allah’s good pleasure”. He has called for those serving in prison on terrorism charges to be released, while at the same time telling the BBC: “I surely have said some pretty radical things and maybe even written some radical things in the past… But one thing I have been very consistent on is terrorism, participating in terrorist activities, violent revolution – is not something that I have ever thought was part of the religion of Islam.” He was recently caught on camera in London’s Hyde Park, abusing a Jewish man. He said: “Why don’t you take the Yahoudi [Jew] over there far away so his stench doesn’t disturb us?”

Moazzam Begg – Perhaps the most famous on the list, Begg served as an inmate in Guantanamo Bay, where he signed a confession stating that he was an Al Qaeda recruiter. After his release, negotiated by the Blair government in Britain, he returned to the country and retracted such statements, but admitted being at Islamic training camps. His organisation, CAGE, which represents former Guantanamo Bay inmates, has described ISIS beheader Jihadi John as a “beautiful young man”. Begg is currently free in the United Kingdom, though he has been arrested and quizzed a number of times on terror-related offences in the past few years.

Ted Cruz Lays Out Immigration Plan

Republican presidential candidate

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
97%

is laying out an immigration plan focused on ending illegal immigration, restoring the rule of law, halting birthright citizenship and developing a legal immigration system to “better serve American workers.”

“The commonsense principles that most of us understand and most Americans agree with on immigration, they’re not complicated: It’s legal good, illegal bad. Why is that so complicated for anyone in Washington to understand?” Cruz asked Friday afternoon at a campaign rally in Orlando.

In laying out his plan Cruz took the media and “Washington cartel” to task for ignoring the plight of the American worker in the face of illegal immigrants depressing wages and taking jobs.

“A steady flow of illegal immigrants coming in, driving down wages impacts the wages of just about every person here. As I observed in the last debate if it was a bunch of people coming over with journalism degrees, driving down the wages of the media, then suddenly people would discover, ‘Goodness gracious this must stop,’” he said.

Cruz, the son of a legal immigrant from Cuba, recalled the last Republican presidential debate in which establishment candidates tripped over themselves to come out in support of amnesty.

“My head was exploding. There is nothing compassionate about a politician saying, ‘I’m so compassionate, I’m willing to give away your job,’” Cruz said. “That’s not compassionate. And you know what, no other country on earth does this. Try sneaking into Canada or England or France or China. Try sneaking into Mexico!”

“Do our laws not deserve the same respect as every other country on earth?” he asked.

Cruz’s plan is based on three central facets: securing the border, restoring the rule of law, and reforming legal immigration.

Included in that plan is the construction of a wall “that works,” tripling the number of Border Patrol agents, increasing aerial surveillance and border technology, and instituting a complete biometric entry-exit tracking system to prevent visa overstays.

“I give you my solemn word today, if I am elected president we will secure the border,” the candidate said, to chants of “Cruz, Cruz, Cruz.”

Cruz lampooned the Obama administration for the break down in immigration enforcement, contrasting it with his plan to restore the rule of law — including ending President Obama’s executive amnesty the first day he is in office.

The Texas Republican’s plan further calls for an increase in deportations, an end to catch and release, halting sanctuary city policies, instituting Kate’s Law, strengthening E-Verify and prohibiting illegal immigrants from receiving benefits.

“The President has plenty of time for Ahmed the clock kid but no time for Kate Steinle,” he said, contrasting Obama’s failure to acknowledge the murder of Steinle at the hands of a multiple deportee, multiple felon illegal immigrant, with his plan to stop sanctuary cities and enforce the law.

The third plank of his plan deals with legal immigration, namely preventing increases in legal immigration as long as the unemployment rate is high and workforce participation rate is low, enforcing the rule that immigrants to the U.S. must be self-sufficient, and ending birthright citizenship.

“It is well past time to end birthright citizenship,” he said.

Cruz further called for a suspension of the issuance of all H-1B visas for 180 days to investigate and audit the program and then institute a number of reforms to the system to protect American workers.

The Texas lawmaker recalled the effort to push through the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill — without naming Gang of Eight member and GOP presidential candidate

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
80%
— Cruz said that was the time for choosing.

“Where you stood up and lined up on the gang of eight bill was a time for choosing, for each leader to decide — ‘do you stand with the Washington cartel? Or do you stand with the working men and women of this country? And I give you my word as president I will always always always stand with the working men and women of this country,’” he said.

Cruz further made the political argument against amnesty, explaining that amnesty will lead to Democratic leaders, particularly in states like Florida and Texas.

“If you support amnesty you are supporting Florida having Democratic governors for as far as the eye can see. If you support amnesty you are supporting our national debt growing and growing and growing and growing and bankrupting our kids and grandkids,” Cruz said, going on to extend the ramifications of amnesty to Democrats’ assaults on religious liberty, Second Amendment, and privacy as well as supporting common core, Iran with nuclear weapons, appeasement of radical Islamic terrorism, and abandoning Israel.

Chris Christie Criticizes Obama and Rand Paul After Terror Attack In Paris

NEVADA, IOWA – New Jersey Governor Chris Christie criticized President Barack Obama for failing to take the threat of ISIS seriously, at a scheduled Chili Supper in Story County, Iowa, this evening.

The event opened with a moment of silence and prayer for the victims, but Christie wasted no time.

“This is a group that our president a short period of time ago called the J.V.,” Christie said, reminding his audience of Obama’s Jan. 2014 dismissal of ISIS’s power.

Christie also spoke at length about the threat of terrorism in America, recalled the 9/11 attack, and explained why he debates the balance of surveillance and civil liberties with

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)
93%
.

“You’ve seen me have these arguments onstage – in a debate with Sen. Paul,” he said, repeating his story about where he was on September 11, being uncertain of whether his wife, who worked near the World Trade Center, was safe.

“See, for guys like Senator Paul, this is all theoretical in some subcommittee in Washington D.C. where they get to blow hot air and talk theories,” he said.

As a former prosecutor, he said he knew what it takes to keep the United States safe from further attacks, and reminding the audience that terrorism “wasn’t a theory” in his experience.

“We need to get all the information we can, as quickly as we can, and we need to get that information before they act,” he said. “We can do that without violating anybody’s civil liberties.”

New York, Washington DC, Boston, St. Louis on High Alert After Paris Attacks

From the Daily Mail:

New York, Boston and other cities in the United States bolstered security on Friday night after deadly gun and bomb attacks on civilians in Paris, but law enforcement officials said the beefed-up police presence was precautionary rather than a response to any specific threats.

The New York Police Department said officers from its Counterterrorism Response Command and other special units were deployed in areas frequented by tourists, and at the French Consulate in Manhattan.

‘Teams have been dispatched to crowded areas around the city out of an abundance of caution to provide police presence and public reassurance as we follow the developing situation overseas,’ the NYPD said in a statement.

New York, the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijacked plane attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people and destroyed the World Trade Center’s twin towers, is considered a top target for potential attacks by Islamist militants. The top of the Empire State Building and the spire at One World Trade Center were lit up Friday night with blue, white and red, the colors of the French flag.
