The Dutch Tulip Bubble of 1637
The later part of the 20th century saw its share of odd financial bubbles. There was the real-estate bubble, the stock market bubbles, and the dot com bubble, just to name a few. In each instance of price inflation people paid exorbitant amounts for things that shouldn’t have been worth anything like the going price. And each time people stood around afterwards and said “What were we thinking?”
One has to believe that the same thought occurred to the Dutch in the 17th century when they settled down after their bout with tulipomania, wherein the humble tulip bulb began to sell for prices to make New York Realtors blanch.
As much as the tulip is associated with Holland, it is not native there. Rather it was introduced in 1593 by a botanist named Carolus Clusius, who brought it from Constantinople. He planted a small garden, intending to research the plant for medicinal purposes. Had Clusius’s neighbors been morally upright, the tulip might still be a rare exotic in the gardening world. Instead they broke into his garden and stole some of his bulbs in order to make some quick money, and in the process started the Dutch bulb trade

Judge Agrees: The Constitution Is a Sham
For those who care about liberty and strive to achieve a free society, the Constitution is deserving of contempt rather than respect. It has served to consolidate and centralize government power by its very design.
Reality is indisputable: The Constitution either authorized the current regime which “regulates” literally every aspect of our lives, or it was utterly powerless to prevent it. Either way it’s “just a goddamned piece of paper,” as George Bush reportedly said. At last, something we can agree on

Senators Ready Bill to Stop DOJ From Bankrolling Liberal Groups
The Senate may take steps to end a Justice Department slush fund that has channeled millions of dollars in banking settlements to outside organizations, including left-wing groups such as La Raza and NeighborWorks America.
Four Republican senators—James Lankford of Oklahoma, Ted Cruz of Texas, and Utah’s Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee—said they would introduce legislation Friday to prohibit federal settlement agreements that require donations to third parties.
The Justice Department currently allows corporations found guilty of wrongdoing to pay a portion of their financial penalty as a donation to certain preapproved nonprofit groups.
“In 2011, the Department of Justice directed $30 million from a banking settlement to go toward left-leaning nonprofit groups,” Lankford’s office wrote in a press release, “like the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and NeighborWorks America.”

Oh Boy: Was A National Security Position Given As Payback To A Clinton Foundation Donor?
It seems as if anything is up for sale if you give enough money to the Clinton Foundation, even positions on a national security intelligence board that has access to top-secret information. Meet Rajiv K. Fernando, a big donor to Clinton, Democrats, and the family foundation, was given a spot on the State Department’s International Security Advisory Board in 2011, even though he had zero experience in the field. He has since resigned from the board after ABC News launched an inquiry into his appointment. The first thing that they asked for from the State Department was his resume. Emails obtained by Citizens United after a 2-year Freedom of Information Act battle with the State Department showed that Clinton’s staffers were instructed to “stall” and “protect the name” of Mrs. Clinton from the news organization’s review of this appointment. One member told ABC, “We had no idea who he was.”
ABC News’ Brian Ross was threatened with arrest for merely asking Fernando about his appointment during the 2012 Democratic National Convention. He added that Clinton promised Foundation donors would not be given special treatment during her confirmation hearings to become secretary of state (via ABC News)

Is Obama Practicing Stealth Jihad with ISIS?
By Ben Barrack on August 20, 2014 in Featured, General
According to Islamic law, Barack Obama is a Muslim because his father was a Muslim. He referred to the Islamic call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset”; he has Muslim Brotherhood infiltrators throughout his administration; he’s defended Huma Abedin; he referred to his “Muslim faith” in a Freudian slip during an interview with George Stephanopolous; he’s sided with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt; he’s a close friend of Rashid Khalidi, former Yasser Arafat media spokesman; he’s aligned with Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who seeks the return of the Ottoman Empire; and the Middle East is on fire.
Shall I go on?

Allen West reports a list of 10 ways the strict teachings of Islam don’t work with our Constitution:
1. The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of speech, while Quran 29:68 and the Hadith 3:106 prohibit insulting Allah and Mohammad
2. The Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, while the Quran prescribes punishments such as cutting the hands off of thieves (Quran 5:38), lashes for fornication (Quran 26:23) and adultery (Quran 24:2)
3. The Constitution establishes itself as the supreme law of the land in Article Six, while the Quran establishes Allah’s word as government (Quran 18:26)
4. The First Amendment prevents the government from prohibiting the free exercise of religion, while Quran 4:89 states that “Those who reject Islam must be killed.”
5. The Fifth Amendment guarantees due process. The Quran only counts the testimony of a female witness as half of that as a man (Quran 2:282).
6. The Preamble states “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty.” By contrast, Quran 8:12 states “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”7. The Thirteenth Amendment prohibits slavery while Quran 33:50 allows women captured during battle to be kept as sex slaves.
8. The Fourteenth Amendment guarantees equal protection under the law, while the Quran doesn’t consider women, Jews, Christians, and other non-Muslims as equal under the law (Quran 5:60, 7:166, and 2:65)
9. The Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, but the Quran allows the seizure of land, homes, and wealth of non-Muslims (Quran 33:27, 8:69, and 48:20).
10. The Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms while the Quran prohibits non-Muslims from owning weapons (Quran 9:29).
This list may not be “politically correct”, but it is essentially accurate.
Bull, This is a very telling list. This needs to get on to some left web sites and debated there. Does anyone know a site I might try and join. This would be my attempt at educating some of them..
