Sounds like Trump just wanted to get the network executives in a big room together so he could yell at them all for a while about how wrong they got the election:
NY POST – President-elect Donald Trump exploded at media bigs in an off-the-record Trump Tower powow on Monday, sources told The Post.
“It was like a f—ing firing squad,” said one source.
“Trump started with Jeff Zucker and said I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed….
“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.
A second source confirmed the encounter.
“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks…,” the source said.
“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong. He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was network of liars.
“Trump didn’t say Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.
“Gayle did not stand up, but asked some question, ‘How do you propose we the media work with you?’ Chuck Todd asked some pretty pointed questions. David Muir asked how are you going to cope living in DC while your family is in NYC? It was a horrible meeting”
I’m not going to say media networks didn’t deserve being yelled at. They do indeed. But Trump wasn’t also accurate either in his attacks on the media.
So I guess it wasn’t far off from what I joked about earlier, as it sounded like he was trying to either set the tone for his administration or intimidate them into covering him more fairly.
Guess we’ll see what happens.

most Americans will go back to sleep so it won't matter what the media reports or what Trump says, it just becomes noise in the wilderness.
Trump made his "First 100 Days Announcement" directly to the people w/o media.
So what does he need them for?????
Suggestion:
* Convert the W/H Press Room to a walking Portrait Gallery for the people.
* Do not appoint a Press Secretary to kiss their ass daily.
* Speak directly to the people about anything substantive and ignore the media..
Consequence:
The DC media assholery will be looking for work, en masse, within 100 days!
Isn't it sad?
HUH!!
A state run media telling the people what they need to hear...or only what he wants us to hear
maybe he can get a copy of N Korea's playbook, or there are several examples from history he could go by.
I am gonna go with a big fat NO on that idea
JV, who the hell is talking about State run media??????
Since your months in the womb, do you ever pause and reflect rather than running off at the mouth at the top of your voice.?????
Two days ago, Trump sat in front of a monitor, w/o the media filter, and told the nation his plan of action for the first 100 days.
Fast fwd to this Summer where he talks to assembled high school students, w/o the media filter, about his plan to permanently eradicate ISIS, flanked by the heads of NSA and JCS.
And so on and so fourth, for the rest of his tenure as POTUS.
You cannot possibly be as dense as you sound. Hm.............................???
even better than state run media,
he doesnt ever have to answer questions from us pesky peasants.
wouldnt at the ''TOP OF MY VOICE'' mean I was typing in all caps??
It's jack incarnate!
