We The People USA

Citizens Dedicated To Preserving Our Constitutional Republic

It has become fashionable in the Left to promote boycotts of anyone and everyone the Left even imagines disagrees with them.   Not only do they promote boycotts, but openly, physically attack citizens on the street and rallies, in restaurants, on public transit, those wearing a MAGA hat, etc.   The Left openly hates the military and the police and have now stooped to kicking police out of a Starbucks, simply because some Lefty is "offended" by their presence.

Well, two can play that game.   So far, conservatives have not retaliated.   Maybe it's about time we did.

What if the police turned it around on the Left and "boycotted" establishments and groups that spew anti-police rhetoric?   What if the police encouraged (or at least allowed) establishments, groups, buildings, etc. to post signs, "Police-free zone" then refused to frequent those places?   What if those signs were prominently displayed so that every criminal and robber would see them and know that they would not be interfered with?   What if the police made it abundantly clear that they did not want to violate the "sensibilities" of those establishments or their patrons and would honor such signage?

Then the police would be free to provide security and safety for those members of the community who actually want to be protected from crime and violence.

Before you think I'm off my nut, let me tell you a story.   Many, many years ago, when I was in the Navy in San Diego, there was much open hostility to Navy and Marine personnel.   It was not uncommon to see signs in yards, "Dogs and sailors keep off the grass".   Even the police would harass sailors and marines just trying to cross a street.   It eventually got so bad that the base commanders and ship captains confined everyone to base or to the ship.   This instantly had a major impact on the local economy and businesses screamed like a gut-shot panther.   After a couple of weeks, the city fathers begged the military to make it stop, promising to put an end to the harassment.   The city kept its promise, the harassment stopped, the signs disappeared.   Order was restored.

Under my plan, the police could make it clear that they wouldn't even go near any location where management even intimated that the police were not welcome.   Obviously, the police would have to respond to specific requests to investigate a crime or take an incident report -- but only after the fact and after the perpetrators were long gone.   Neither would this preclude the police from investigating criminal organizations like MS-13, the Mafia, etc. where police have never been "welcome".   I'm talking about businesses, establishments, or groups who hate the police for political or ideological reasons.   Perhaps the police could advise these "victims" that it sounded like a "civil" matter and, perhaps, they should sue those they dislike or with whom they disagree in civil court.

Nor would this preclude the police from investigating organizations that would pose as businesses with ideological anti-police leanings, but would only use that as a cover for criminal activities.

When I was in law enforcement, we had a saying, "No victim, no crime".   If people don't like the police, they probably won't call the police.   Hence, "No victim, no crime".   It was not uncommon to arrive at an incident only to have no one talk to us or provide information.   Call me a curmudgeon, but if they don't want our help, they can live with the consequences.   There were always those who did want my help, and I provided it.

I would bet serious money that patrons of "Police-free zones" would soon become FORMER patrons and business would decline dramatically.   Honest, law-abiding citizens would quickly realize that they were literally taking their lives and safety into their own hands when they entered a "Police-free zone" and they would stay far, far away.

Plus, in addition to the police you see, there are their families and friends, former and retired police and their families and friends, as well as those who respect the police.   There are a lot more of us than the Lefties think.

Soon, sooner than you think, people would realize that they really do need the police and management would deal forcefully with any Leftist employees.   If management, itself, was anti-police, I'll bet they would quickly change their tune, at least superficially.   And, in establishments next to those with "Police-free zone" signs, you would begin to see "Police Welcome" signs.   Police departments could even have "Police Welcome" signs printed for anyone wanting one.

Just a thought.
