Last weekend, President Obama gave the commencement address at the University of Notre Dame. His appearance at the Catholic college created significant controversy due to Obama’s blatantly pro-abortion rhetoric, record and actions as President.
In his typical fashion, Mr. Obama used smooth rhetoric in an attempt to diffuse the controversy, but his words once again exposed a gap between his rhetoric and reality. Obama -- who is 100 percent pro-abortion and is expected to take dramatic actions to expand taxpayer funding of abortion -- calls abortion a “heart-wrenching decision” that has “both moral and spiritual dimensions.”
Yesterday I sat down in the studio with Stuart Shepard, the host of our Focus Action Updates, to discuss Obama’s speech. Please go here to watch the key segments of Obama’s address and our analysis.
Mr. Obama and Congress: “Don't Use My Tax Dollars To Fund Abortions!”

Currently, we continue to focus attention on efforts by the Obama administration and Congress to expand usage of our tax dollars to fund abortions.

Vigilance and the Turning Tide
“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty” is a quotation that has become a proverb of the American experience. Its source is unknown, but may have come from Patrick Henry, was used by President Andrew Jackson and became a rallying cry of abolitionist Wendell Phillips at a time when basic human rights for the slaves seemed like a far-off dream.
Today, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" may seem like a distant dream for the preborn. But it is a dream that you and I must keep alive -- by praying… by exposing the deceptions of the abortion movement… and by taking action to turn the tide. The good news is, the tide is turning. For the first time in its history, Gallup found that a majority of Americans now call themselves “pro-life” (51 percent as compared with 42 percent “pro-choice"). Yes, the tide is turning. Let us remain ever vigilant.
For life and family,
