FCC Chairman Calls YOU, an "Issue Mongering" "Conspiracy Theorist"

Last Thursday, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Copps claimed that the anti-free speech Censorship Doctrine – also mis-known as the “Fairness” Doctrine - is “long gone” and that “it’s not coming back.”

He also called those concerned with the “Fairness” Doctrine’s return “issue mongering” “conspiracy theorists.”


After considering the long list of Congressional Democrats who have recently called for a return of the mis-named Fairness Doctrine - including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid – MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell immediately challenged this description of you – our valued MRC Action Team members – as “conspiracy theorists.”


Brent rightly noted “it isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s a determination to shut down free speech on talk radio.”


Brent then went on the offensive — calling the FCC Chairman’s bluff by calling on him to demand action from Pelosi and Reid:


“Chairman Copps should call on Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to allow a full, fair stand alone vote on the Broadcaster Freedom Act.”


Chairman Copps has given us an incredible opportunity. But we MUST follow up his words with our Action!
