Thank you so much for your support for the Tea Party '09 event that we scheduled Friday. I am very happy to report that it was a COMPLETE SUCCESS!!
Unlike the other events cross-country, we started at 3pm CST, and went till dark. We were affiliated, but as far as I could tell, we were actually the first event planned last Friday, so I could not change my schedule. My band, Desert Son Band, was in perfect form. We started off the event like a concert, with songs like Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA", "Cotton Fields", and many politically inspired songs I'd written and recorded over the last couple of years, playing on the loud speakers. Stephanie Click, chief of the Republican Party in Tarrant Country, who was instrumental in the success of the event, passed out American flags to people as they signed the petition. There were about eight speakers, including myself. We got over 800 signatures, which tells me that over a thousand people attended! In front of the establishment, there was 2-300 demonstrators picketing and chanting "no more pork", inside another 200 eating and drinking, and out back where I had 2 banners mounted saying "TEA PARTY '09", there was another 300 people where my band was set up. People had to park in adjacent businesses, and empty lots. We pulled it off with only one incident of heckling from an Obama supporter, who decided to stand at the door of the venue and shout obscenities to one of the speakers, saying Bush was responsible for all the mess in Washington. Our crowd answered him back in a less virulent way, and management asked him to leave.
One lady, Emma Whittington (I'd say about 90-100 years old), was there dressed in Revolutionary-era garb, and boasted to me that she had a container of tea from the "Boston Tea Company", which I viewed, that had to be hundreds of years old. She took some of the tea out and gave it to me, which I stuck in my pocket and saved for posterity.
My newest song, "Tea Party Revolution", had everybody boppin' around and diggin' it. It was distributed by the "Tea Party USA" organization cross-country to other Tea Party events, up to thirty rallies, to play on their loudspeakers.
The event went until dark, around 630pm. It was a beautiful Texas sunset, and we started breaking down our equipment. Demonstrators in front were still chanting, as passer bys honked their approval. They were still engaged, even when I left about 7pm with all the band gear.
I took a few pictures. I'm sure there will be scores of pictures all over, including the media that attended the event. I shook hands and passed out cards to many that attended, who thanked me personally for founding the event. It was a beautiful thing, with emotions running deep, a lot of hugging and crying. I even shed a tear or two.
I gave four on-air interviews with local prominent talk radio personalities. That was a lot of fun.
One person approached me and asked if I'd help with another event soon to be staged in Grapevine, Texas. I replied "yes", and now we have in the works, another rally. I'll let you know when it will take place.
Overall, everything turned out perfect. We will take this country back with patriotism like this. My prediction is, a 4th of July rally in Washington, with 2-3 million people, standing up for what they believe in, a FREE AMERICA, despite efforts from the adversary. I gave a speech, which I had titled "Good vs. Evil", which defined my thoughts about Constitutionality, God, and Freedom. It was received well. We WILL take this country back, with the grace of GOD, and the efforts of TRUE AMERICANS.
Thanks,
Mark Christopher Frimmel
