Rubio and Bush question Cruz's conservative values, here's the truth about Cruz

It really says something about Cruz’s conservative values

In part because he has been in the media spotlight for decades because of his proven business acumen, his successful books, and his role in “The Apprentice,” Donald Trump‘s past is relatively well-known to the American public.

That is not as much the cast with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who has been better known to Texans than to most of the rest of the country until relatively recently.

So Legal Insurrection took a closer look at Ted Cruz’s past to see if he was a true conservative.

In his college years at Princeton, Cruz was an avid defender of the Constitution, and even wrote his senior thesis on the separation of powers and how they were designed to defend us from a totalitarian government.

At Harvard Law School, Cruz continued to shine, becoming the editor of both the Harvard Law Review and the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.

It really says something about Cruz’s conservative values if he can survive two of the most liberal schools in America and still come out a conservative.

Cruz was solicitor general of Texas and amassed an extensive record of defending the Second Amendment and standing up for American principles. Cruz also was part of the George W. Bush campaign and advised him on issues such as civil justice, criminal justice, constitutional law, immigration and government reform.

As a senator, Cruz continued to be a staunch conservative and rose to national fame because of it. He was elected to the Senate during the tea party wave in 2012 when he promised to stand up to establishment Republicans and President Barack Obama.

He did just that. Cruz fought against Sen. March Rubio’s immigration bill, has repeatedly been behind efforts torepeal Obamacare, and has stood for his principals no matter how unpopular they were with his fellow Republicans.

This is not a good situation for Cruz, Cruz makes no gains without the star of the show on the stage with him. Without Trump at the debate, Cruz becomes the top dog, with everyone targeting him. He will not be able to deflect all the arrows and will come away wounded. Cruz is just an opener, not the star. He seems to forget that. The only downside I see for Trump, he may end up with a new challenger besides Cruz. If Trump can keep Cruz in close second place, he cruises to the nomination.

Hey, just read that Fox CEO has a daughter who supports Marco Rubio - think there was/is something to that?

I think you will find that in every news outlet, children supporting other candidates than parents.

Headline after headline talks about the GOP breaking apart fracturing or cracking up. This all spells doom in the general election in their words. This is clearly laughable as we look at the democrat side with two old white people running for office, one a socialist and the other facing indictment this year for crimes against her country.

It is so funny to read all these left wing rages trying to taint the GOP with all its diversity as the white mans party and paint the Democrats as inclusive at a time it displays no diversity at all. This time around its not working and it scares the hell out of them but come November they will no longer have the ability to hide behind the lies.

When it comes to diversity in this election cycle, on the democrat side you see the white mans club running and supported by the DNC for the senate with very few exceptions. On the republican side you see far more blacks running for the senate then the Dem's and you see more woman running for the senate then the Dem's. we also have more black Americans running from the right then the left.

As more and more minorities see what has happened to the makeup of candidates on the left and witness the growing diversity on the right. The public will as they are now beginning to understand if your not LGBT or Muslim or an old white person the democrats have forgotten you, the GOP has open arms for you and they are coming.

Amen DV........

Raphael Cruz registered his son Ted  to be a heritage member when Ted was only in Jr. High...Raphael Cruz is a dynamic conservative Southern Baptist minister  who has walked before his son in such a Godly manner that he helped Ted to set his feet firmly upon the paths of righteousness...rasising him up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord...I read awhile back that Ted had prepared  briefs and presented them before the supreme Court that number in the forties and won them...Compared to Marco Rubio who was a Catholic and left that to become an evangelical and then back to Catholic now...Marco  is  a flip flop  smooth slick con man...no one speaks as well as the cons do...witness Huckabee... who would have still been on FNC if folks had not gotten tired of his insisting on having as many democrats on his show as the did repubs....What a joke that man is...
